Safety and operating instructions
The percussive power of the machine can if necessary be reduced limiting the
throttle valve stroke, see figure:
Pull the setting knob (d) and turn it clockwise to reduce the power. Find a suit-
able position and lock the knob in one of its 10 holes.
At maximum power setting the throttle lever can be pushed fully to stop
into the handle.
Maintenance
Maintenance
Lubricate the machine regularly with air tool oil.
Before longer standstills clean and lubricate the machine. When putting the ma-
chine into operation again, flush through with paraffin or a similar fluid. Imme-
diately after flushing thoroughly oil the machine with air tool oil.
The machine should be dismantled for overhauling and cleaning at regular in-
tervals after 500 running hours but at least once every six months.
The use of other than genuine Atlas Copco replacement parts may result in de-
creased tool performance and increased maintenance and may, at the option of
the company, invalidate all warranties.
Cleaning
At 100 hour operating intervals or earlier if operation becomes sluggish or the
machine shows sign of sticking, flush through with paraffin or a similar mate-
rial. Immediately after flushing thoroughly oil the machine with air tool oil.
The strainer inside the inlet adapter (b) should be cleaned frequently to prevent
choking with resultant decrease in capacity.
Dismantling
All threads are right hand.
• Remove ring (35).
• Clamp the cylinder (20) firmly in a vice and unscrew the handle (1).
• Remove pin (29) – if necessary by drilling (protect exhaust holes and thread
from chips by sticky tape) – and back off the outer cover (27).
• Remove, clean and inspect all parts – see spare parts list illustration.
Assembly
• Replace all O-rings and worn parts.
• Ensure all parts are clean and have a film of air tool oil lubrication.
• Clamp the cylinder (20) vertically in a vice.
• Mark the position of the five deep drillings for air distribution in the cylin-
der (totally 12 holes) with a marking pen.
Insert piston (24) and parts (25,26).
Tighten the outer cover (27), recommended tightening torque 50 Nm.
Protect exhaust holes and the thread by sticky tape to avoid contamination
with drill chips.
Drill a new hole, dia 3.9–4 mm x 8.8 mm, not interfering with the markings
