Installation
Mounting the Pump
Using the rubber dampening feet, bolt or screw the pump to a solid surface in a dry area with adequate ven-
tilation. Mount the pump horizontally, or if vertically, with the pumphead facing down. Do not over-tighten
fasteners to allow the rubber feet to absorb vibration.
The pump must be installed in a dry and ventilated
area. If mounted within an enclosure, provisions to
cool the motor may be necessary. If mounting the
pump in an outdoor environment the pump should be
shielded from water, dust, sunlight and wash
down spray.
Installing the Plumbing
Use of flexible, braided, high-pressure rated hose with a size corresponding to that of the included port
fittings is recommended. Do not use rigid or plastic piping to connect pumps as this transmits vibration and
stress and causes noisier performance. Attach the hose firmly to these fittings using a proper hose clamp.
Insert the fittings o-ring side first into the pumphead and then push the retaining port clips in to secure
the fittings. A Flojet 40 Mesh strainer should be installed on the inlet side of the pump. The pumphead has
an arrow on it indicating flow direction. The vast majority of pumps flow left to right as shown in figure.

Connecting to a Power Source
Proper wire gauge and fuse size based on the maximum current draw, the wire length, and any
relevant regulatory standards must be used. Current draw and fusing information is shown on the
pump label. Correct connection of the positive and negative leads to the power source is shown below.
These pumps come with wire leads that are either 14, 16, or 18 AWG (2.5 mm
The wire gauge can be found printed on the leads. When extending the pump lead wires consult a
qualified industrial electrician for the appropriate wire size.
