Safety instructions regarding the workplace

Make sure that the working area around the capstan winch and the
route for the pulling operations are safe.
›
Make sure that you can see the entire working area when operating
the capstan winch.
›
Make sure that the danger zone is made safe with clear warning
signs and barrier tape.
›
Clear the ground next to the capstan winch of branches and other
obstacles.
›
Make sure that the required tools are within reach.
›
Make sure that the working area is clear of wood scraps, obstacles
and objects likely to cause tripping.
›
Remove all obstacles from the working area before starting work.
›
Make sure that adequate first aid equipment is available at the
workplace.
›
Only work in daylight.
›
Only work under favourable weather conditions. It is prohibited to
perform pulling operations in storms, with black ice, frozen ground
and in high winds.
›
Ensure that you have a level area with safe footing and with
sufficient freedom of movement.
›
Make sure that you are outside the danger zone before performing
pulling operations.
›
When working with the capstan winch, always observe the danger
zone because it may not be possible to hear acoustic signals due
to the noise of the machine and when wearing hearing protection.
›
When operating the capstan winch, maintain a safe distance of at
least 5 m from the capstan winch and rope.
