Starting a seam

Placefabricunderpresserfoot1/2"(12mm)fromrearof
fabric.Lowerthepresserfoot.
Backstitchtotheedgeofthefabricforreinforcementby
pushing in the reverse button located in center of the
stitch length dial. Hold button inuntilstitching reaches
edgeoffabric.
Releasepushbuttonforforwardstitching.
Guiding and supporting
fabric
• For tricot, and other similar synthetic knits, apply
gentletension byholding the fabric atthefrontand
backofpresserfootasyousew.Donotpullfabric.
• For fine fabrics or withunusualamount of elasticity,
suchasstretchknits(helanca)orLycra,holdthefabric
firmlybothfabricandthreadsatthefrontandbackto
startaseam.Followingthisprocedure,thestitchwill
notpucker.
