OR INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
A. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified
person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards,
including fire-rated construction.

Installation in New Construction
Position fan housing against side of joist at desired location. Adjust
height of housing so that flange on bottom of housing will be flush with
the finished ceiling. Secure the housing to the joist using screws or
nails (not provided).
Run 7" round duct from the fan to the outside of the structure. Make
sure the backdraft damper is operating freely.
Remove desired wiring knockout from the wiring compartment and
mount the wiring compartment into the fan housing using the hardware
provided. Install a wiring connector in the knockout and run 120V
supply wiring from a wall switch to the fan location. Connect the green
or bare supply ground wire under the green ground screw in the wiring
compartment. Connect the white supply wire to the white wire and
black supply wire to the black wire of the motor receptacle on the
wiring compartment cover. Mount the wiring compartment cover using
the hardware provided.

Installation in Existing Construction
Note: installation in existing construction requires access to
the area above the ceiling.
Determine desired location for fan. Make sure that install-
ation will not interfere with existing wiring, plumbing, or duct-
work. Make sure ductwork and wiring can be run to the
location.
From the area above desired location, position fan housing
with mounting flanges against ceiling joist. Use bottom flange
of housing as a template to mark ceiling cutout. After cutting
out opening in ceiling, position fan housing so that the bottom
flange is flush with the bottom of the ceiling. Secure the
housing to the veiling joist using screws or nails (not
provided).
Complete the installation as describes above under new
