SAFETY WARNINGS
CAUTION:
Read and thoroughly understand this manual and the instruction manual of your tool
before use.
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is switched off and battery is removed before installing the
extension handle. Failure to do so may cause personal injury due to unintentional start up of the tool.
CAUTION:
Before installing the battery cartridge into the tool, always check to see that the handle
lever actuates properly and returns to the "OFF" position when released. Defective handle lever may cause
personal injury.
CAUTION:
Do not use this extension handle for any tool other than Makita rebar tying tool. Doing so
may cause personal injury.
NOTICE:
When cleaning, never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deforma-
tion or cracks may result.

ASSEMBLY
Installing the tool
1.
Attach the clamping screw to the hole on the
housing.

Remove the latch and open the door of the tool
mount.
3.
Place the tool onto the tool mount and close the
door. After that, firmly lock the door using the latch.

After the latch is fully tightened, you can change the
latch position by pulling it up and turn. Position the latch
so that it may not hinder the operation.

Loosen the bolt inside the handle lever by turning
it about two rotations counterclockwise using the hex
wrench.

NOTICE:
Do not over-loosen the bolt. Doing so
may cause the bolt dropped off and result in malfunc-
tion of the extension handle.

Loosen the clamping screw and adjust the arm
length by sliding the housing. When adjusting, be sure
to leave a gap between the lever and switch trigger of
the tool. After that, tighten the clamping screw firmly.

Bring the handle lever so that there is no gap
between the handle lever and the housing as shown in
the figure.

Tighten the bolt inside the handle lever using the
hex wrench.

CAUTION:
Make sure that the switch trigger
of the tool is not pulled by the lever. If so, perform
the above procedure from the beginning. Failure
to do so may cause unintentional start up of the tool
and result in personal injury.
8.
Pull the handle lever and check if it interlocks with
the switch trigger of the tool.
NOTE: If the movement of the handle lever is slug-
gish, loosen the clamping screw and then re-tighten it.
9.
Install the battery cartridge to the tool.
