1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1.1 Western WRD System
The WESTERN WRD SYSTEM is a modular stand-alone system, consisting of a WRM60 X (Master) and one or
more WRM60 X SL (Slave) to achieve charging powers of up to 50kW (max 15 chargers). The Master is the
coordinator of the system: it dynamically modifies certain parameters in order to optimise the energy
management of the whole system and to ensure that battery parameters are respected. The system allows data
monitoring and remote control from the internet, via a cloud platform. Obviously, the managed power depends
on the system voltage 24/48V and the number of Slaves added to the system.
The WRM60 X is used in a stand-alone system with a Smart battery type (equipped with CAN communication)
included in the compatible profiles
The WRM60 X can be used, with the addition of the optional WBM battery monitor module, in a stand-alone
system with Pb Seal/Gel or Flood battery types or with lithium batteries with VEoC in the range
although having an integrated BMS, do not have CAN communication. The WBM battery monitor accounts for the
input and output energy of the battery, as well as its management (see WBM manual for more details).
In this mode the WBM switch in Pic.3 should be set to ON for both positions.
1.2 Modularity
One or more WRM60 X SLs can be used as a photovoltaic power expansion in a system where the WRD controller
is already present, which can be either the WRM60 X (Master) or the Leonardo Pro X master inverter. The
WRM60 X SL is connected to the same battery and two other photovoltaic strings, plus the WBUS chain cable
must be connected between the devices.
