FIBROPTONIC
2.1 Equipment:
Transmitter
Receiver
Fibre
6, 9 or 12 V power supply
Sinusoidal or rectangular signal generator
Oscilloscope
2.2 Set-up and experiment
Adjust the signal generator so that it gives sinusoidal or rectangular signals with
peak-to-peak amplitudes of between 50 and 300 mV, and frequencies of 1000 to
2000 Hz.
Connect the signal generator to the yellow and black terminals of the receiver
(black to ground). Place the microphone switch on the EXT position and the other
switch on On. The green and red LEDs must come on (signal received).
The sound level is adjusted with the receiver's potentiometer. It is possible to set it
on zero: there is no sound in this case.
To view the signal received, the oscilloscope must be connected to the yellow and
black terminals of the receiver unit (black to the ground of the oscilloscope). Refer
to figure 13.
