Test using the Dräger FS 1200 flame simulator
The flame simulator can be used to simulate exposure of the flame
detector to a real fire condition. The flame detector is exposed to
radiation at the required detection level. As a result, the flame detector
will generate a fire alarm signal.
NOTICE
If the flame detector is exposed to a flame simulator, both alarm relay
and auxiliary relay and 0-20 mA output are activated during the
simulation.
► Disconnect automatic extinguishing systems or any external
devices that may be activated during the testso that no fire
extinguishing measures are initiated.

To perform a test using the flame simulator:
1. Power up the system. Wait up to 60 seconds for the flame detector
to turn to normal state (status LED flashes green at 1 Hz).
2. Aim the flame simulator at the target point of the flame detector so
that the radiation emitted by the simulator is facing directly towards
the flame detector.
3. Press the button of the flame simulator once.
After a few seconds, a successful test shows the following results:
Component
