5 - CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

FRONT AND PAINTED CAST IRON PARTS
Clean the stove when it is cold. Do not use deter-
gents or abrasive products.
THE GLASS PANE ON THE DOOR
Never try to clean the glass while there is a fire in
the fireplace. We recommend using Hergóm glass
cleaning products when the stove is cold.
Replacing. The glass pane in your device is made of
thermal material (Termoshock), especially manufac-
tured for log fireplaces. If it should break, it must be
replaced by another glass pane with the same tech-
nical specifications. Contact our Distributor to pro-
vide you with the appropriate glass pane, together

with instructions to assemble and seal it.
JOINTS AND SEALS
We recommend a visual inspection of the state of
joints (doors, glass...) and seals at the beginning and
half-way through a season to check whether they
need replacing or repairing.
REMOVING ASH
This operation must be done while the appliance is
cold.
This appliance is provided with an ashtray, placed at
the bottom of the stove. Extract the cast iron grill
and the cover steel plate below it, and with the help
of a brush, empty out the ashes in the ashtray. Close
the air regulation valve (Fig. 6), extract the ashtray
and clean it from the ashes (Fig. 7).
The ashes should be placed in a metallic container
and must be taken out of the house immediately.
Clean also the housing of the ashtray, if necessary.
Do not forget to put again the ashtray and the grill
on its place.
BAFFLE PLATES
Clean the baffle plates on both sides at least once
each season using a brush. This will facilitate the
transmission of air through the plate and avoid its
deterioration to a great extent.
To proceed with the disassembly of the baffles, con-
sult section 11. Once the cleaning has been carried
out, reassemble the baffles following the steps de-
scribed in the reverse order.
