4 Connections
1) For connecting the receiver to the subsequent unit
(e. g. amplifier, mixer), the receiver is provided with
two outputs:
BAL MIC (10) = XLR jack, balanced
for connection to a microphone input
AUX (9) = 6.3 mm jack, unbalanced
for connection to a microphone input or a highly
sensitive line input
IMPORTANT!
Never connect the audio output to a phantom-
powered microphone input, otherwise the receiver
will be damaged. If required, prior to connection
always switch off the phantom power on the cor-
responding unit!
If the subsequent unit is provided with a balanced
microphone input, the XLR jack should be used for
an optimum signal connection.
Make the corresponding connection to the subse-
quent unit. Do not switch on the subsequent unit or
do not open the corresponding control on the mixer
until the microphone system has been completely
switched on.
2) Connect the low voltage plug (12) of the power sup-
ply unit to the jack SUPPLY 12 V (5) of the receiver.
3) Connect the plug-in power supply unit to a mains
socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
However, power supply of the receiver is also pos-
sible via any other 12 V
battery, power supply unit) able to deliver a current of
at least 300 mA. For connection, a low volt age plug
5.0/2.1 mm (outside/inside diameter) is re quired.
The positive pole must be at the centre contact.
5 Operation
1) Place the antennas (6) in a vertical position and
turn them away from each other approx. 45° out-
wards.
2) Switch on the receiver with the switch POWER (4).
The POWER LED (1) lights up.
3) Adjust the threshold for interference suppression.
For this purpose, leave the microphone in off posi-
tion. Use a small screwdriver to turn the control
SQUELCH (7) clockwise to the position "MAX SEN-
SITIVITY". The reception LED (2) must not light up
(neither "A" nor "B").
If the reception LED lights up, interferences are
received. For interference suppression, turn the
control SQUELCH counter-clockwise until the
reception LED is just extinguished. Do not turn the
control counter-clockwise any further, otherwise the
microphone signal may also be suppressed.
4) Switch on the microphone. The reception LED "A"
or "B" (2) at the receiver must light up. If the LED
remains dark, the reception is too poor:

transmission path?
d Can the reception be improved by turning the
antennas?
e Is the threshold for interference suppression too
high [adjustment via SQUELCH control (7)]?
See item 3).
5) Switch on the subsequent unit or open the corre-
sponding fader on the mixer. If the output AUX (9) is
used, match the output volume with the control AUX
VOLUME (8) to the input of the subsequent unit.
6) In case of an overload of the microphone system
caused by a volume at the microphone which is too
high, the red LED AF PEAK (3) lights up – inde-
pendent of the volume control AUX VOLUME (8).
Reduce the volume of the sound source or increase
the distance between the microphone and the
sound source.
If the volume at the microphone is too low, a
poor S/N ratio will result. Increase the volume of
the sound source or reduce the distance between
the microphone and the sound source.
7) After operation, switch off the receiver with the
POWER switch. Remember to switch off the micro-
phone as well, otherwise the battery will be ex-
hausted the next time the microphone system is
used. If the receiver is not used for a longer period,
disconnect the plug-in power supply unit from the
mains socket as there will be a low current con-
sumption even with the receiver switched off.
