USE - MAINTENANCE

3 - OPERATION
3.1- Control s are l o cated on the ri g ht hand si d e of the front to operate worktop i l l u mi n ati o n and sel e ct the most sui t abl e worki n g speed for
your cooki n g. To i n crease the area of extracti o n, the gl a ss vi s or shoul d be pul l e d open. The top speed shoul d be used when fryi n g or
cooki n g foods wi t h strong odours, whi l e a l o wer speed can be used for normal cooki n g. To obtain the best performance from your
hood, turn it on before you start cooki n g and l e ave i t runni n g for a few mi n utes after your cooki n g is over to cl e ar the ai r .
3.2- Pay attenti o n to safety regul a ti o ns 1.7 and 1.8.
4 - MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Regul a r mai n tenance and cl e ani n g wi l l ensure good performance and rel i a bi l i t y, whi l e extending the worki n g-l i f e of the hood. Speci a l
attenti o n shoul d be reserved to the grease fi l ter and to the charcoal fi l ter (recycl i n g mode).

4.1 - Grease filter

Thi s retai n s the sol i d grease parti c l e s and can be suppl i e d i n di f ferent types. lt is fitted onto the reverse si d e of the metal gri l l e panel.
Mai n tenance of the grease fi l ter vari e s accordi n g to the used type.
a-Whatever type of fi l ters used, the fil t er i s easi l y removed from the gri l l e by pushi n g the metal wi r e cl i ps to one si d e and removi n g.
b-Thi n syntheti c fi l ter (1 mm thick). It shoul d not be washed and shoul d be repl a ced every two months. If the fi l t er i s provi d ed wi t h a sa-
turati o n i n di c ator, repl a ce when:
b.1-The vi o l e t col o ur of the dots, whi c h are visi b l e through the metal gri l l e , i s spread over the whol e surface of the fi l ter.
b.2-The red col o ur of the stri p es, whi c h is not vi s i b le through the metal gri l l e when the fi l t er i s cl e an, becomes vi s i b l e from the out-
si d e of the metal gri l l e .
c-Mul t i - l a yer metal fi l ter. It shoul d be washed once a month i n hot water usi n g mi l d detergent or l i q ui d soap. It can be washed in a di s h-
washer. It shoul d not be bent and shoul d be l e ft to drai n dry.
WARNING: An excess of grease i n the fi l ter not onl y woul d affect the performance of the hood, but it is al s o a possi b l e fi r e risk. We
strongl y recommend therefore to cl e an and repl a ce fi l ters i n accordance wi t h the manufacturer i n structi o ns.
4.2 - Cleaning Metal self- supporting Grease Filters
The fi l t ers are washabl e and must be cl e aned at least every 2 months of operati o n, or more
heavy usage.
Remove the fi l ters one at a ti m e by pushi n g them towards the back of the group and pul l i n g down at the same ti m e.
Wash the fi l ters, taki n g care not to bend them. Al l o w them to dry before refitting.
When refitti n g the fi l ters, make sure that the handle i s visi b l e on the outsi d e.

4.3 - Charcoal filter

The charcoal fi l ter i s a chemi c al fil t er to be used onl y when the hood i s i n the recycl i n g posi t i o n. To repl a ce the charcoal fil t er, open the
gri l l e and remove the thumb screw through the centre of the charcoal fi l ter. If the fil t er i s of the i n terl o cki n g type, turn the fil t er anti -
cl o ckwi s e. Repl a ce by reversi n g the operati o n. For a good performance replace the charcoal filter on average every three months.

4.4 - Worktop illumination

If a l a mp fai l s to functi o n at any ti m e, open the metal gri l l e panel and check that the l a mp i s ful l y screwed i n to the hol d er. When chang-
i n g the l a mp, an i d entical repl a cement must be fi t ted to ensure a safe worki n g of the hood.
4.5 - Cleaning
The metal work shoul d be cl e aned regul a rl y , at least once a month, usi n g mi l d househol d cl e aner and pol i s h. Never use abrasi v es.
