General safety and application notes for Lenze power supply modules
Intended use
Power supply modules are components designed for the installation in electrical systems
or machinery. They must not be used as household appliances. They are intended
exclusively for professional and commercial purposes in compliance with EN 61000−3−2.
When installing the power supply modules in machines, commissioning (i.e. starting of
operation as directed) is prohibited until it has been verified that the machine complies
with the regulations of the EC Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive); EN 60204 must
be observed.
Commissioning (i.e. starting of the operation as directed) is only allowed when there is
compliance with the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU).
The power supply modules meet the requirements of the Low−Voltage Directive
2014/35/EU. The harmonised standard EN 61800−5−1 applies to the power supply
modules.
The technical data and supply conditions can be obtained from the nameplate and the
documentation. They must be strictly observed.
For the actuation of the power supply modules in certain areas complying with EN 61800−3
(EMC categories), the use of filters may be required. Warning: In residential areas, this
product may cause high−frequency interference which may require the implementation of
interference suppression measures.
Transport, storage
Please observe the notes on transport, storage, and appropriate handling.
Observe the climatic conditions according to the technical data.
Installation
The power supply modules must be installed and cooled according to the instructions
given in the corresponding documentation.
The ambient air must not exceed degree of pollution 2 according to EN 61800−5−1.
Ensure proper handling and avoid mechanical stress. Do not bend any components and do
not change any insulation distances during transport or handling. Do not touch any
electronic components or contacts.
Power supply modules contain electrostatically sensitive components, which can easily be
damaged by inappropriate handling. Do not damage or destroy any electrical components
since this might endanger your health!
