4.3 Inserting the battery pack

WARNING:
Danger of injury due to a non-original bat-
tery pack! Only insert the provided battery
pack or an original replacement battery
pack purchased from us.
WARNING:
Danger of injury! Ensure that the appliance
is switched off (On/Off switch in the "0"
position), before you insert the battery
pack.
1. Ensure that the appliance is switched off
(On/Off switch in the "0" position).
2. Forcefully pull off the cover of the battery
compartment (Fig. 9, "OPEN").
3. Insert the provided battery pack. In this
process ensure the following:
- The sticker with the text "This side up"
must be facing up (Fig. 10).
- The contacts in the battery pack must be
able to engage in the apertures in the in-
sulation of the battery pack (Fig. 10).
- Let the battery pack first slide into the
battery compartment on the side with
the contacts (Fig. 11).
- Leave enough space on the side of the
contacts that you do not crush the con-
tacts (Fig. 11).
- Then press the battery pack into the bat-
tery compartment on the other side
(Fig. 12).
- The battery pack must now rest evenly
on the bottom of the battery compart-
ment (Fig. 12).
4. Fit the cover of the battery compartment
back on (Fig. 9) and slide it forcefully into
its bracket. You will feel and hear the cov-
er snap into place.
NOTE:
At delivery the battery pack is not charged.
Consequently proceed as described under
Chapter 5, 'Charging the battery pack in
the appliance'.
