Reversing the Rotational Direction (see figure C)
The rotational direction switch 6 is used to reverse the
rotational direction of the machine. However, this is not
possible with the On/Off switch 7 actuated.
Right rotation: Push the rotational direction switch 6
left to the stop (for screwing in screws).
Left Rotation: For loosening or unscrewing screws,
push the rotational direction switch 6 right to the stop.
Setting the Torque
With the torque presetting ring 4 the required torque
setting can be preselected in 10 steps. With the cor-
rect setting, the insert tool is stopped as soon as the
screw is screwed flush into the material or when the
adjusted torque is reached. The safety clutch is deacti-
vated in the " " position, e. g. for loosening screws.
Select a higher setting or switch to the "
when unscrewing screws.
Switching On and Off
To start the power tool, press the On/Off switch 7 and
keep it pressed.
The Power Light 10 lights up when the On/Off switch
7 is halfway or fully pressed, and enables illumination of
the screwing location in unfavorable light conditions.
To switch off the power tool, release the On/Off
switch 7.
Adjusting the Speed
The speed of the switched on power tool can be vari-
ably adjusted, depending on how far the On/Off switch
7 is pressed.
Light pressure on the On/Off switch 7 results in a low
rotational speed. Further pressure on the switch results
in an increase in speed.
Fully automatic spindle locking (Auto-lock)
When the On/Off switch 7 is not pressed, the drill spin-
dle and thus the tool holder are locked.
This enables screws to be screwed in, even when the
battery is empty and allows for the tool to be used as a
screwdriver.
Temperature Dependent Overload Protection
When using as intended for, the power tool cannot be
subject to overload. When the load is too high or the
allowable battery temperature of 70 °C is exceeded,
the speed is reduced. The power tool will not run at full
capacity until after cooling down.
Protection Against Deep Discharging
The lithium ion battery is protected against deep dis-
charging by the "Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)".
When the battery is empty, the machine is switched off
by means of a protective circuit: The inserted tool no
longer rotates.

Working Instructions

Apply the power tool to the screw only when
it is switched off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.
Soft Grip
The gripping surface (soft grip) 5 reduces the danger
of slipping and thereby improves the grip on the
machine and the handling.
At the same time, the rubber coating achieves a vibra-
tion-reducing effect.
Craftsman Case (see figures D– E)
The craftsman case 12 can hold the power tool, the
respective battery charger, a spare battery and addi-
tional accessories. The craftsman case 12 can be hung
up with the utility hook 11.

The carrying holster 13 for the cordless screwdriver is
fastened in the case with a Velcro strap and can easily
be removed. The loop of the carrying holster, e. g., can
be fastened to a belt.
Tips
Before screwing larger, longer screws into hard mate-
rials, it is advisable to predrill a pilot hole with the core
diameter of the thread to approx.
length.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the power tool (e. g.,
maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as
during transport and storage, set the rota-
tional direction switch to the center position.
Unintentional actuation of the On/Off switch can
lead to injuries.
For safe and proper working, always keep the
power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
When the battery is no longer operative, please refer to
an authorized after-sales service agent for Bosch
power tools.
If the power tool should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service center for
Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts orders, please
always include the 10-digit article number given on the
type plate of the power tool.
