Start-up

7.1 General

To ensure that start-up is performed correctly, it should only be
carried out by an after-sales service technician authorised by the
manufacturer. This may be a condition for extending the guaran-
tee (see Warranty Service).

7.2 Preparation

The following items need to be checked prior to start-up:
All of the heat pump connections must be established as de-
scribed in Chapter 6.
All valves that could impair the proper flow of the heating
water in the heating circuit must be open.
The air intake and air outlet paths must be clear.
The ventilator must turn in the direction indicated by the ar-
row.
The heat pump controller must be adapted to the heating
system in accordance with the controller's operating instruc-
tions.
Ensure the condensate outflow functions properly.
The outflow from the heating water pressure relief valve
must also function correctly.
De-aeration of the heating system:
Ensure that all heating circuits are open and the heat circu-
lating pump is operating (level III).
Connect the voltage to the heat pump controller. Select the
heat generator 2 operating mode and de-aerate the system
at its highest point. Top up with water if required (maintain
static minimum pressure).
Prior to start-up, it is essential to remove the two transport
restraint screws (M6 - see illustration) which are labelled
with stickers on the compressor panel!
ATTENTION!
Operating the heat pump without removing the transport restraint screws
not only produces increased sound emission, but can also cause damage
to the compressor and the refrigerant pipes.

7.3 Start-up Procedure

The heat pump is started up via the heat pump controller. Adjus-
tments should be made in compliance with the instructions.
Operation with an external heat circulating pump
(recommended)
In this mode of operation, the internal circulating pump, in combi-
nation with the differential pressureless manifold, ensures a suf-
ficient continuous mimimum flow in the heat pump. The external
circulating pump (electronically-regulated installation is recom-
mended) ensures water flow in the heating circuit. The settings
and adjustments between the heat pump and the heating system
described in the following paragraph are not neccessary here.
Operation (only) with internal heat circulating
pump
In this mode of operation, the heating installation must ensure
the minimum water flow rate in the heat pump for all operating
conditions (e.g. external overflow valve).
For this, the following points must be observed:
Close the stop-cock in the differential pressureless manifold.
Reconnect the internal circulating pump (M16) from N09 to
N06, so that the water pipe is permanently flushed with the
return flow sensor fitted to it.
When making the electrical connection, it must be ensured that
the internal circulating pump (M16) is reconnected from N09 to
N06 on the heat pump controller (in the switch box).
