The blower will start at the highest speed.
When the cooling demand is satisfied:
The blower will keep running on low speed.
NOTES:
The power switch has no effect on cooling mode when there is a cooling demand from the thermostat.
If a two stage thermostat is used, remove the jumpers between W1 & W2. If a three stage thermostat is
used remove the jumpers between W1 & W2 and between W2 & W3. In this mode the thermostat will
automatically control the sequence between the different elements and the motor speeds. In such a case, it
is imperative that the power switch be at its maximum position (center position), i.e. 15KW for model 215,
18KW for model 218 and 19KW for model 219.
In the above examples, the operation is similar for models 218, 219, 318 and 319. The three settings are,
respectively, 9KW with low speed, 13KW with medium speed and 18KW with medium speed for model 218
and 319 and 9KW with low speed, 14KW with medium speed and 19KW with medium speed for model 219
and 319.
REMEMBER TO VERIFY THE POWER SWITCH POSITION WHEN TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEMS THAT RELATE
TO THE FURNACE NOT SUPPLYING ENOUGH HEAT OR WHEN MEASURING A CURRENT LOWER THAN
EXPECTED.
6.0 Air flow verification
After the installation, it is CRITICAL that proper air flow be verified. This is done by taking the difference of temperatures
(delta T) between the inlet plenum and the supply (warm air) plenum. Take 4 or 5 measurements in the duct and
calculate the average for the warm air duct. This temperature differential must be in accordance with the table in
section 1.3. If the temperature difference is much higher than table 1, 2 or 3 of section 1.3 for the specified power
setting, it is an indication that restriction in the heating system is much larger than normal. This might be caused by an
obstruction or a clogged air filter. It is also possible that your house has an abnormally high pressure restriction. In that
case it is possible to use the high speed of the blower. To do this, internal connections to the motor must be transferred
from the medium speed tap to the high speed tap on the motor. Refer to the electrical diagram. It is strongly
recommended that this modification be done by a qualified technician or electrician. Note the Delta T's in the table
below. This information will be very valuable when doing annual maintenance. Please note that the factory settings for
the blower are:
•
Series 100
o 15KW, 18KW and 19KW without cooling coil (0.20" W.C.): medium speed.
o 15KW, 18KW and 19KW with cooling coil (0.50" W.C.): high speed.
•
Series 200 and 300
o 5 KW and 10KW power setting on Econoplus‐215 and 315: low speed.
o 9 KW power setting on Econoplus‐218, 219, 318 and 319: low speed.
o 13 KW power setting on Econoplus‐218 and 318: medium speed.
o 14 KW power setting on Econoplus‐219 and 319: medium speed.
o 15 KW power setting on Econoplus‐215 and 315: medium speed.
o 18 KW power setting on Econoplus‐218 and 318: medium speed.
o 19 KW power setting on Econoplus‐219 and 319: medium speed.
o All models with cooling coil (0.5" W.C.): high speed.
