Dampness test
A simple test is to crush the ingredients
between two hard objects.
Unsuitable, i.e. excessively damp ingre-
dients, can be flattened like oats and they
will not crack; if required, dry them again.
You can also put some of the ingredients
in the freezer for several hours and then
immediately process them at a fine grinding
setting. If the frozen ingredients can
be ground finely, this is a clear indication
that the grain was too damp previously.
