Used batteries should not go into domestic refuse. You are legally obliged to dispose of the batteries cor-
rectly. Dispose of them through your electrical dealer or local recycling centre.
Note: you will find these symbols on batteries containing toxic substances: Pb = battery contains lead, Cd =
battery contains cadmium, Hg = battery contains mercury. The battery in this device does not contain toxic
Pb Cd Hg
substances.
6. During use
Always ensure that the sensor is clean and undamaged. Switch on the thermometer with the „ " button.
6.1 Measuring in the ear
After a short self-test and a short beep the thermometer is ready for measuring the temperature in the ear.
Because the ear canal is slightly curved, pull the ear back and up slightly before inserting the sensor tip.
This is important to allow the sensor tip to be pointed directly at the ear drum. Insert the sensor tip carefully
and press the button „ " for about1 sec.
The end of the measuring time is signalled by a short beep. Now you can read the measured temperature.
The smiley is also illuminated according to the test result:
based on: indicates that the body temperature is in the normal range, is displayed at a temperature
of or higher than 38.0 °C, i.e. fever alarm.
The time between measurements should be at least 10 seconds. This ensures that the measurement is
more accurate.
6.2 Saving the temperatures measured
The temperature last measured, is saved automatically. There are 10 memory locations available for this.
The last temperature measurements can be recalled by pressing the „M" button on the bottom of the thermometer.
