EXPRESSING BREASTMILK
Flexible Breastcup
We designed this pump with a unique breastcup that is very soft
and flexible. It will conform to and move with your breast as you
express. Our mums have told us that the flexible breastcup makes
for a more comfortable pumping session. There is no friction or
tugging, which can cause trauma to your breast, especially over time.

enough to ensure a complete seal
with no air leaks.
Mums often achieve Let-Down with short, quick squeezes as these are similar to the fast,
non-nutritive sucking motion of baby during the first phase of breastfeeding. This should initiate
milk flow which is known as Let-Down. Let-Down is the biological trigger to release breastmilk
and it's the first step for a successful pumping session.

Expressing
Once you have Let-Down,
continue to pump at a rate that
is comfortable for you. Longer,
slower squeezes often yield the
most milk flow as these are
similar to the actual nursing phase
of breastfeeding.
Breastmilk should begin to flow and collect in the bottle. Even if
you do not experience milk flow immediately, continue pumping
for a few minutes. Your first few times expressing may not yield
any milk. This is normal. Never exceed minutes of pumping
without milk flow.
Always clean your pump after every pumping session.
Warning:
Pumping should not cause pain or discomfort. If you experience
discomfort during pumping, contact a Lactation Consultant or your
healthcare provider.
STORING & HANDLING BREASTMILK
After expressing your breastmilk, it is important to store and
handle it properly.
Make sure your hands and storage containers are clean to avoid contamination of your
expressed breastmilk.
Use Breastmilk Collection Bottles or Breastmilk Storage Bags to store your breastmilk.
These can be used in the refrigerator or freezer.
Be sure your storage bottle or bag is sealed tightly to ensure freshness of the breastmilk.
Date code your bottles or bags if you do not intend to use your breastmilk immediately.
For extended storage, freeze your breastmilk.
Warning:
Do not add fresh breastmilk to already frozen breastmilk in a storage container. Do not save breastmilk
from a used bottle for another feeding.
