Please note that only the transport mesh may be bent, but never the distractor itself.
Afterwards fix the transport mesh (M) to the transport segment using at least four 1.5 mm
micro screws.
The correct function of the distractor has to be verified intraoperatively by a test activation.
Special attention has to be paid to possible interferences with the surrounding bone and soft
tissue. Afterwards return the distractor back to the initial position. The activation spindle has
to remain accessible after suturing.
WARNING
Danger of system failure due to improper handling!
Improper handling (non-permitted adaptation) of the distraction system by the user can lead
to failure of the system and injury! Therefore, please note:
The distraction system must never be bent or adapted to bone contours.
To adapt the distraction system to the anatomical situation it is possible to carefully adapt
the transport mesh (M) using suitable bending pliers. When adapting the contour the
fixing of the transport mesh on the distractor shell as well as the shell itself must never
be bent or mechanically strained.
Sharp bends, bends against the original direction of bend (bending back) and bends in the
area of screw holes are not permitted.
When cutting the plates, special care must be taken to prevent the cut-off part from flying
in the direction of the patient, user or third persons.
WARNING
Danger of contamination by chips or fragments resulting from osteosynthesis plate
adaptation!
Should metal particles remain in the patient's body, long-term adverse effects cannot be
ruled out. Therefore, be sure to work on the osteosynthesis plates in a way that prevents
metal particles or chips, whether from the implant or the tool, from entering the patient's
body.
Prior to each patient contact, adequate measures must be taken to clear any contamination
caused by plate adaptation (e.g. chips) on the implant, in the periphery of the surgical site or
on the clothing of the surgical staff.
