4 Maintenance

4 Maintenance
Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2!
The operating and maintenance personnel
responsible for the machine must ensure that no
one can enter the machine's danger zone during
operation or maintenance work!
Maintenance work may only be performed by
trained specialists! They must be familiar with
the dangers associated with such work, protect
themselves and avoid danger!
When work is being done on the machine
(setup, maintenance, service, repair, cleaning,
etc.), the power supply of the machine has to be
disconnected from the mains (pull power plug)!
Perform cleaning and maintenance work in ac­
cordance with the operating manual and check
the safety equipment for completeness and
functionality.

4.1 Customer service and spare parts

In case of customer service queries, replacement
parts or repairs, please contact the manufacturer. To
ensure your queries are dealt with as quickly as pos­
sible, always include the specific data of your ma­
chine. These can be found on the machine's name­
plate.
4.2 Installing and removing ETX diamond
tools
Risk of damage due to unsuitable tools!
The manufacturer strongly recommends to use
only the certified tools offered by Schwamborn.
The consistency of the surface to be ground deter­
mines type or the composition of the ETX diamond
tools to be used.
1.
Pull the power plug from the line to the voltage
supply.
2.
Remove assembly tool [21, Fig. C] from the
machine console [8] .
3.
Place the machine on the floor (! Fig. F) with
the guide handle [1, Fig. A].
With the machine tipped, the grinding
plate [30, Fig. F] is accessible with the ETX
diamond tools [31, Fig. F].

The ETX diamond tools need to be checked for
wear and damage by the user before each use
and be replaced by new ones if necessary.
4.
Use the assembly tool to loosen the three
clamping screws [32, Fig. F/G/J] of the
retaining ring.
5.
Turn retaining ring [33, Fig. G]
counter‐clockwise to full stop. (! arrow)
The three recesses [34, Fig. G] have to be
positioned each at one ETX diamond tool.
6.
Loosen the ETX diamond tool [31, Fig. H] from
the grinding plate with a gentle strike of a lump
hammer and remove it. (! arrow)
7.
Remove all ETX diamond tools as required.
8.
Insert new ETX diamond tool [31, Fig. H] into
the recesses of the grinding plate and press
firmly in the direction of the arrow (use lump
hammer if necessary).
9.
Mount all ETX diamond tools as required.
10. Turn retaining ring [33, Fig. J] clockwise to full
stop. (! arrow)
11. Tighten the three clamping
screws [32, Fig. F/G/J].
12. Set the machine upright.
13. Insert the assembly tool back into the machine
console [21, Fig. C].

4.3 Check/clean/change air filter

The filter needs to be checked regularly depending
on the amount of dust.
1.
Pull the power plug from the line to the voltage
supply.
2.
Wait for about 30 seconds.
Frequency converter is switched off.
3.
Remove the hood from the frequency con­
verter [37, Fig. P].
4.
Check/clean/change the air filter [38].
5.
Install the hood on the frequency converter.

4.4 Cleaning the machine

Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2!
1.
Pull the power plug from the line to the voltage
supply.
2.
Place the machine on the floor (! Fig. F) with
the guide handle [1, Fig. A].
