3.3 Operation

Risk of damage and injury from uncontrolled
movement of the machine!
High‐voltage electrical current can be fatal! Do
not run over, crush, or pull on the power cable!
The direction of work always has to be away
from the socket / extractor unit.
The operating personnel responsible for the
machine must ensure that no‐one can enter the
machine's danger zone during operation!

If necessary, for wet grinding, press the lever
[8, Fig. A/E] (water supply) according to the re
quired amount of water (empirical value).
2.
If necessary, press the safety cap [21, Fig. B]
on the safety switch until it snaps in.
3.
Loop the safety line [2, Fig. B] around the wrist
so that if the operator moves away from the
guide handle, the safety cap will be reliably sep
arated from the safety switch.
4.
Use both hands to hold and guide the machine
by the guide handle [1, Fig. A].
Be sure you have a secure footing when you
switch on the machine! The machine develops a
sideways torque when it is switched on.
The surface to be ground can now be machined.
Many tools with polycrystal diamonds (PCD)
only permit use in one rotational direction.
Tools with metal or synthetic resin‐bonded dia
monds may be used in any rotational direction.
5.
Select the desired tool rotation direction with the

All specifications on the direction of rotation are to
be considered as seen from above the machine.

Suitable tools are available for various grinding
tasks. Please contact Schwamborn service if
necessary.

3.4 Switching the machine off

Risk of injury
From tool holder disc still rotating after the ma
chine is switched off!
Only switch off the machine with the tools rest
ing on the floor!
Otherwise, the tool holder disc can still rotate
idly (run‐on) for several seconds after being
switched off, or the guide handle being released.

The machine is off
In an emergency, the machine can be switched off
with the EMERGENCY STOP button [16, Fig. B].
Risk of injury from high voltage!
There is still residual voltage even after the ma
chine has been switched off! In order to switch
the machine free of voltage, the power plug
[4, Fig. A] has to be disconnected from the
mains!
4 Maintenance
Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2!
The operating and maintenance personnel
responsible for the machine must ensure that no
one can enter the machine's danger zone during
operation or maintenance work!
Maintenance work may only be performed by
trained specialists! They must be familiar with
the dangers associated with such work, protect
themselves and avoid danger!
When work is being done on the machine
(setup, maintenance, service, repair, cleaning,
etc.), the power supply of the machine has to be
disconnected from the mains (pull the power
plug)!
