11. Care instructions for stainless steel

Composition and quality
Stainless steel is one of the most robust and durable materials known to modern technology.
Stainless steel is designated by materials that have a chrome, nickel and molybdenum* alloy that make them resistant to corrosion.
This resistance to corrosion is an important material characteristic so that material surface protection is not required.
We use steel with material number 1.4301 having approx. 18.6 % chrome and 9 % nickel. This can easily be reshaped and is particularly
suitable for welded constructions.
Its surface is smooth and non-porous, making it hygienic and easy to maintain.
Material number 1.4571 is used for WCs, urinal systems, the 'Cobra' upright shower and special models.

Cleaning and care
Basic cleaning is required after installing sanitary equipment made of stainless steel. Protective layers, films and strippable varnish must be
removed immediately. These coverings can age when exposed to heat and light preventing them from being removed without residues.
Clean with a stainless steel cleaner immediately after removing the protective film.
We recommend our Rochromol cleaning agent for stainless steel products (Order No. 0014 42 66).
Splashes of paint can be removed with suitable organic solvents. Splashes of lime and cement should be removed before hardening with a
rubber disc or a wooden splint. Do NOT use tools such as normal steel scrapers or steel wool, etc.
Do NOT use hydrochloric acid (even in diluted form) for cleaning, and do NOT even bring it into contact with the steel surface when,
for example, the acid is being used on neighboring brickwork or ceramics, as this may lead to pitting corrosion.
According to the degree of contamination, soap and standard non-aggressive steel washing-up liquid as well as conventional special cleaning
agents have proven to be suitable for regular cleaning of products made of rustproof steel.
Observe the special care instructions for mirrors made of rustproof steel.
