Manual BVS 21 ATEX E 069 X
4.
Installation
For installation and operation, the rules of
generally accepted engineering practice, the
provisions of IEC 60079-14: 'Electrical instal-
lations design, selection and erection' and
the instructions set out in this Manual must
be observed.
A terminal connection diagram is supplied
with
every
explosionproof
assembly. It provides information on the con-
tact and terminal assignments.
If there are intrinsically safe circuits or Ex i
components installed in the explosionproof
switchgear assemblies, those electrical limits
crucial to intrinsic safety must be taken into
account.
4.1
Location
The explosionproof switchgear assemblies must
be installed at carefully selected locations where
they cannot be damaged by mobile equipment
such as pallet and forklift trucks.
Explosionproof switchgear assemblies that are
mounted on a frame must be protected against
toppling over.
The explosionproof switchgear assemblies must
be secured with the same number of screws as
there are holes provided for them in the enclo-
sures.
4.2
Ambient temperature
To ensure compliance with the permissible sur-
face temperatures, ensure that the ambient tem-
perature remains within the range –20 to 40°C
or 60 °C (see rating plate). In this connection,
remember to take the effects of other heat
sources into account, such as exposure to sun-
light or, if applicable, higher switching capacities
for short periods. These effects should not be
allowed to raise the enclosure temperature addi-
tionally.
