Troubleshooting
This troubleshooting guide is for general aid only. For service and installation issues and concerns, call
1-800-4-KOHLER.
Symptoms
"GEN TEST" LED is OFF.

"GEN TEST" LED is ON
2.
flashing red, ON solid
green, or ON solid red.
"TEMP SENSOR" LED is

ON flashing red, ON solid
green, or ON solid red.
"DATA LINK" LED is ON

flashing red, ON solid
green, or ON solid red.

No steam is being
generated.
There is a continuous

steam head. Water flow

Probable Causes
A. The steam generator is not
connected to the steam adapter.
B. The steam generator is not
connected to the AC line.
C. The steam generator cable is
damaged.
D. The steam adapter is damaged.
E. The steam generator is
damaged.
A. The steam generator is
damaged.
A. The room temperature sensor is
disconnected.
B. The room temperature sensor
assembly is damaged.
C. The steam adapter is damaged.
A. The steam adapter is not
properly connected to the media
module.
B. The cable between the steam
adapter and the media module.
is damaged.
C. Bad heating element.
A. The piping is not properly
attached.
B. The steam head is blocked.
A. The water supply is incorrectly
attached to the steam generator.
B. The water feed assembly is
stuck.
C. The solenoid valve is
malfunctioning.
Recommended Action
A. Check the steam generator cable
for proper connection to the steam
adapter.
B. Check the steam generator cable
for proper connection to the AC
line.
C. Replace the steam generator cable.
D. Replace the steam adapter.
E. Replace the steam generator.
A. Replace the steam generator.
A. Check room temperature sensor for
proper connection.
B. Replace the room temperature
sensor assembly.
C. Replace the steam adapter.
A. Check the steam adapter cable for
proper connection to the media
module.
B1. Check the steam adapter cable for
proper connection to the media
module.
B2. Replace the cable.
B3. Contact customer service at
1-800-4-KOHLER.
C. Contact customer service at
1-800-4-KOHLER.
A. Reattach the pipes properly.
B. Remove the steam head (after
cooling) and check that the plunger
slides freely in the cap.
A. Connect the water supply to the
proper inlet.
B. Remove and inspect the water feed
assembly in the generator.
C. Remove and replace the solenoid
valve.
