Introduction
Dear customer,
thank you for acquiring the banknote detector Soldi 120. In order to ensure trouble-free operation, please read
the instruction manual carefully.
Operation
Plug the device into a power socket. Select UV or white light detection using the switch on the right-hand side
of the device.
O = Off
I = UV light
Testing with UV light
However, the banknote paper itself remains dark. Forgeries, on the other hand, usually have a generally bright glow.
Exception:
If the banknote has been accidentally washed the paper also glows brightly under UV light. The banknote is not
necessarily a forgery, but the other security features should now be examined more closely.
Important note:
Some forgers are also able to make remarkably authentic imitations of the glowing fi bres and parts of the printed
image on paper that does not glow under UV light. If you want to test with UV light you should therefore commit the
real UV images to memory and not rely on this authentication method alone if possible.
ES1:
100 Euro – Genuine front under UV
The following areas glow under UV on genuine banknotes:
Randomly distributed blue, red and green fi bres in the paper
The blue European flag and the signature of the ECB (European Central Bank) president in green
The stars in the European flag that are yellow under normal light have an orange glow
The European stars that are arranged in a semicircle glow in diff erent colours
The bridge motive and the map of Europe (on the back) glow green
100 Euro – Genuine back under UV
