Repairs

The items supplied include a repair kit which allows small damages to be repaired (Pic-
ture G). Large damages cannot be repaired this way and need to be done by a profes-
sional, or you can call our Customer Service.
Small leaks?
Is the SUP board losing air too quickly? Then it has a small hole that should be patched
as quickly as possible. Patching an SUP board is done following the well-known method
of patching of a bicycle inner tube.
We recommend doing the repair at room temperature. That is ideal for the SUP
board material and the repair adhesive.
You will need: a clean rag, acetone, PVC patch, suitable repair adhesive, a blunt pencil.
1. First, fi nd the leak. A trick with soapy water helps: Generously apply it to the surface
of the infl ated board and then watch where little bubbles form.
Caution! If a seam is aff ected, it is essential to inform Customer Service. Repair is
more time-consuming on a seam and cannot be carried out with the repair kit sup-
plied.
2. Mark the leak with a pencil.
3. Defl ate the SUP board completely (see the "Let out the air" chapter).
4. Lay the damaged area so that it lies fl at and without folds on even ground.
5. Clean the area carefully with acetone.
6. Cut a suitable patch from the repair kit. Do not cut too small, and round the corners
as this increases the durability.
7. Place the patch on the damaged spot and edge it with a pencil.
8. Clean the underside of the patch with acetone.
9. Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the area around the damaged area and to the patch.
10. Allow the repair adhesive to dry for approx. 5 – 8 minutes.
11. Apply the patch and glue it down by stroking from the centre outwards. Make sure
that there are no wrinkles.
Then leave the SUP board to sit for approx. 24 hours without infl ating it so that the repair
adhesive can dry completely.
Leaky valve?
If the valve is leaking, determine whether it is escaping directly at the valve head edge or
from inside the valve. In both cases the solution can be very simple.
Air is leaking out around the valve edge
The entire valve core is only screwed in. So it's possible that it has come loose.
1. Remove the protective cap.
2. Place the valve key (included in the repair kit) on the valve and turn clockwise (Pic-
ture H1).If it turns easily, the problem is that the valve has loosened.
If air continues to escape, it's possible that the valve is not seated in the middle of the
depression.
1. Let out a little air.
2. Loosen the valve by turning the valve key counter-clockwise. Turn until the valve
moves inside the depression.
