Do not use any abrasive, hard
!
cleaning objects. Do not use any
corrosive, acidic cleaning material. Do
not dry clean the modules.
Dust and too much dirt on the
i
module surface can reduce the
yield of the PV system.
Normally, module cleaning is not
required if there is sufficient pitch
(more than 15°) (self-cleaning through
rain). If the module is very dirty, clean-
ing with water without cleaning agent
and a soft cleaner (sponge without hard
surface) is recommended. The dirt
must never be scraped off dry, since
it may result in micro-scratches that
reduce the output.
We recommend regular inspection:
– Check the module for damages and
glass breakage.
– Check the electric connections for
secure attachment and corrosion.
– Check cabling for damages (chafe
marks, gnaw marks by animals)
– Check mounting system for secure
hold and attachment
If the PV system's yield is below
expectations, the following list of
frequent causes of faults might help:
– Improper or faulty cabling
– Burnt fuses or blown voltage circuit-
breaker
– Shadowing of the modules by trees,
towers or buildings or even through
heavy dirt and impurities on the
module.
– Inverter malfunction
– Improper maintenance and cleaning
– Module malfunction (very rare)
Disposal
For any queries regarding the disposal
or recycling of modules, please contact
Sulfurcell.
Sulfurcell is a founding member of
PV CYCLE. The modules can be ideally
disposed and recycled via the voluntary
retrieval and recycling program of PV
CYCLE, keeping in mind the ecological
and economic criteria.
