Operation
a) Programming the built-in wireless switch to function as a wireless transmitter.
The built-in wireless switch can be assigned to any wireless transmitter in the RSL System, e.g., a wireless
wall transmitter or a remote control.
A total of 10 different wireless transmitters in the RSL System can be programmed. Thus, the
built-in wireless switch can be turned on and off from different places.
Proceed as follows:
• Depress the button on the built-in wireless switch (for more than 3 seconds) until the LED next to the button
starts fl ashing. The programming mode will be active for 15 seconds before it switches off automatically.
• When the programming mode is activated (the LED next to the button fl ashes), depress the "On" button
on the inbuilt wireless switch (button "I") or the corresponding "ON" button on the remote control (for more
than 3 seconds) until the LED is permanently lit and the unit connected to it is switched on.
The tuning process has been completed successfully. The programming mode will be exited automatically.
• If you wish to program further wireless transmitters, you have to reactivate the programming mode. Please
proceed as described above.
The programming mode is activated automatically (LED fl ashes) when the voltage is switched
on (e.g., when using it for the fi rst time). You now have approx. 15 seconds to program a wireless
wall transmitter or a remote control; see above.
b) Deleting a programmed built-in wireless switch from a wireless transmitter
If you want to use the switching channel on a wireless transmitter (wall-mounted radio transmitter or remote
control) for another built-in wireless switch, the switching channel can be released as follows:
• Depress both the "On" and "Off" buttons for the channel on the wireless transmitter you want to release for
approx. 3 seconds.
- Wall-mounted radio transmitter: Depress the "I" and "O" buttons simultaneously for more than 3 seconds.
- Wireless remote control: Depress the "ON" and "OFF" buttons simultaneously for more than 3 seconds.
• The LED on the built-in wireless switch then starts fl ashing. The programming mode will be active for 15
seconds before it switches off automatically.
• Depress the "O" button on a wall-mounted radio transmitter, or the "OFF" button on a remote control for
the current switching channel, for at least 3 seconds, until the LED of the wall mounted transmitter goes
off. The consumer connected to the built-in wireless switch is switched off.
• The connection between the built-in wireless switch and the wireless transmitter is switched off, and the
built-in wireless switch does not react to the respective wireless transmitter.
Please consult the user manual for the respective wireless transmitter for the RSL System (e.g.,
remote control).
c) Switching on and off using the button on the built-in wireless switch
Briefl y press the rocker switch (Position "
Press the rocker switch again to switch the users off again.
Important: The rocker switch of the built-in wireless switch must thus be correctly installed, so
that the button can be operated correctly (see Section "Installation and Connection").
d) Turning on or off over a radio transmitter of the RSL system
• If you haven't already programmed the built-in wireless switch, you have to program or tune it to a radio
transmitter of the RSL system (e.g., to a radio-controlled wall switch or a wireless remote control).
• Make sure that the built-in wireless switch is supplied with power (230 V/AC 50 Hz).
• Briefl y press the "I" button on the wall-mounted radio transmitter, or the "ON" button for the switching chan-
nel on the the remote control, for which the built-in wireless switch was programmed.
The red LED on the built-in wireless switch lights up, the switch output is activated and the connected
devices are switched on.
• To deactivate the switch output and switch off the connected devices, briefl y press the "O" button on the
wall-mounted radio transmitter, or the "OFF" button on a remote control, which was assigned to the built-in
wireless switch.
The red LED on the built-in wireless switch goes out.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Never dismantle the built-in wireless switch. Repair or maintenance work
must be carried out by a specialist.
Clean the front panel / rocker switch on the built-in wireless switch with a clean, dry, soft cloth.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as these might damage the surface of the
casing or impair the operation.
") to switch on the users connected to the built-in wireless switch.
Information about the range
Dependent on the type of wireless transmitter you use, the range is up to 70 m.
This value, however, is the so-called "open space range" (the range the transmitter and receiver
are visible to each other, without disturbing infl uences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, the ceilings of rooms, etc., between the transmit-
ter and the receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different infl uences on the radio transmission, no specifi c range can be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached house.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated / metallised insulating glass
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g., radiators)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g., in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-controlled
headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby monitors etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appliances
