Safety instructions
Please read the operating instructions carefully and pay particular attention
to the safety instructions. We do not assume liability for any injuries/mate-
rial damages resulting from failure to observe the safety instructions and the

a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed for
safety and approval reasons. Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children! The prod-
uct may only be set up, used or stored in places that are not accessible to children.
The same applies to batteries.
• Pay particular attention, if children are present! Children may change the settings
or short-circuit the battery(ies), which may cause a fire or an explosion. Risk of
fatal injury!
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations,
high humidity, moisture, dust, dirt, combustible gases, vapours and solvents.
Never expose the product to mechanical stress.
• Do not carelessly cast aside the packaging material. It may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Please handle the product with care. The product can be damaged if crushed,
struck or dropped, even from a low height.
• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the device out of service and secure
it against unintended use. Safe operation is no longer possible, if the product:
- shows visible damage,
- no longer functions properly,
- has been stored under adverse ambient conditions for an extended period of
time or
- has been exposed to considerable strain during transport.
• If you have doubts about how the equipment should be operated or how to safely
connect it, consult a trained technician.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work should only be carried out by an expert
or a specialised workshop.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or other professionals.
b) Location for use
• The product may only be used in dry, enclosed spaces. The product must not get
damp or wet.
• Select a stable, flat, clean, sufficiently large place for the charger. Protect valuable
furniture surfaces by using a suitable mat.
• Do not place the charger on a flammable surface (e.g., carpet, tablecloth). Always
use a suitable, non-flammable, heatproof base. Keep the charging device away
from combustible or easily inflammable materials (e.g., curtains).
• Make sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
Place the connecting cable so nobody can trip over it.
• Do not place any containers filled with liquid, e.g., vases or plants, on or next to
the charger. If these liquids get inside the charger, the charger will be ruined, and
besides this, it also carries the highest risks of fire or explosion.
If this occurs, immediately disconnect the product from the power supply, then
remove any inserted batteries. Do not use the charger again - bring it to a special-
ist workshop.
c) Operation
• This charger can be used to charge two NiMH or NiCd AA/Mignon and AAA/Micro
batteries (with rated voltage 1.2 V in each case). Moreover, a 1 or 2 cell Li-ion
battery (rated voltage 3.7 V or 7.4 V) can be charged.
The simultaneous charging of NiMH/NiCd batteries and a Li-ion batteries is im-
possible. It is also impossible to charge a single NiMH/NiCd battery, since both
charging bays must be used simultaneously.
• Never insert other batteries or non-rechargeable batteries in the charger. There is
a great risk of fire or explosion!
• Ensure sufficient ventilation during use; never cover the charger. Leave sufficient
distance (at least 20 cm) between the charger and other objects. Overheating
poses a risk of fire!
• The charger may only be connected to a stabilised direct current of 5 V/DC (e.g.,
via an appropriate USB power adapter).
• Do not operate the product when it is unattended. Although there is a wide range
of comprehensive safety mechanisms on the device, it is impossible to exclude the
possibility of malfunctions or problems occurring while charging a battery.
• When you work with the charger or batteries, never wear metallic or strongly
conductive materials, such as jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, rings or similar ob-
jects). A short circuit poses a danger of fire and explosion.
• Placing metallic leads and contacts between the battery and charging slot is not
permitted! Insert the batteries directly into the charger.
• Do not connect together the charging channels of the charger.
• Only use the device in a moderate climate, do not use it in a tropical climate.
For more information on acceptable environmental conditions, see the chapter
"Technical data".
• Do not use in the immediate vicinity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields,
transmitter aerials or HF generators. This can impact the electric control system.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room
into a warm one. The resulting condensation may lead to malfunctions or damage
under certain circumstances! Let the product reach room temperature before us-
ing it. This may take several hours.
• Disconnect the voltage/current supply from the product, if it is not to be used for a
while (e.g., for storage). Remove any batteries previously inserted.
Notes on batteries
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around openly. Children or pets may swallow them. In
such a case, call a doctor immediately!
• batteries must never be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into fire. There is a
danger of explosion!
• Remove the batteries out of the charger directly after the end of the charging process.
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer
burns. For this reason, you should use suitable protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces
coming into contact with these liquids may be severely damaged. Thus, store bat-
teries in a suitable location.
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of fire and
explosion! Only charge batteries meant for this purpose.
• Please always observe the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting
the batteries.
• The charger is only intended for charging NiCd and NiMH batteries (AA/Mignon
and AAA/Micro with rated voltage 1.2 V) or 1 or 2cell Li-ion batteries (rated voltage
3.7 V or 7.4 V).
• A slight warming of batteries during the charging process is normal. Allow the bat-
tery to cool down to room temperature before using it.
