e. Complete the installation of the signaling device by following the appropriate sections in
the instruction sheet that accompanied the device.
2. Mounting the Model MSL Directly to the Bracket.
The Model MSL series of products can be mounted directly to the mounting bracket through
the use of the four (4) supplied #6 screws (refer to figure 3).
a. Remove the entire stack of colored lenses by twisting the very bottom lens counter-clock-
wise (as viewed from the top) unit it unlocks. Lift the bottom lens upward and
off the base unit. The other colored lenses should remain attached to the bottom lens.
Each module has an o-ring on it to keep it watertight. Retain all o-rings.
b. Remove the two phillips head #6 screws and disassemble the sleeve(s) from the base. The
printed circuit board will remain attached to the sleeve(s).
c. Knock out the four surface mounting holes at the bottom of the MSL base.
d. Place the gasket (supplied with the Model MSL) onto mounting bracket and place the
base on top of the gasket.
e. Secure the base to the bracket with the #6 screws provided.
f. Complete the installation of the signaling device by following the appropriate sections in
the instruction sheet that accompanied the device.
Excessive torque on the mounting screws may crack the base. Do not over tighten the screws.
II. SERVICE.
Federal Signal will service your equipment or provide technical assistance with any problems that
cannot be handled locally.
Any units returned to Federal Signal for service, inspection, or repair must be accompanied by
a Return Material Authorization. This R.M.A. can be obtained from the local distributor or
manufacturer's representative.
At this time a brief explanation of the service requested, or the nature of the malfunction,
should be provided.
