1. On the mortise latch mechanism
(item C on the checklist), adjust the upper
and lower sleeves (A and B) (figures 5-1
and 5-2) so that the face plate will
be flush with the stile.
2. Secure the mortise latch mechanism
(C) (figure 5-3) to the stile using two

3. Secure the face plate (radius or beveled) (D)
(figure 5-3) to the mortise latch using two

4. Position the outside lock housing assembly
(E) (figure 5-4) (item A on the checklist)
against the outside stile. Ensure that the
outside lever arm is inserted into the small
square opening (F) (figure 5-5) in the
latch mechanism.
Tip: If you encounter difficulty in positioning
the outside lever arm, depress the latch while
inserting the lever (figure 5-6).
5. Align the outside lock housing assembly (E)
(figure 5-4) through-bolt holes with the four

" (6 mm) holes in the stile. Secure the top

of the assembly to the stile using the inside
upper trim plate (G) (item P on the checklist)
and the two 10-24 x 2
Phillips-head mounting screws
(item O on the checklist).
6. Test the operation of the lock using the
factory preset combination to ensure that
the lever arm is correctly positioned:
a. Depress 2 and 4 together and release,
then 3 and release.
b. Push the ENTER button and release.
c. Hold the lower portion of the lock firmly
against the stile, and then pull the outside
paddle to retract the latch.
7. If the latch does not retract, test the lock
using the factory-preset combination again.
If the problem persists, perform the following
measures until the latch retracts as expected:
Reposition the outside lever arm:
a. Remove the inside upper trim plate
and the outside lock housing assembly
from the stile.
b. While depressing the latch (figure 5-6),
reposition the outside lever arm into
the small square opening (F) in
the latch mechanism.
c. Hold the outside lock housing assembly
firmly against the door, and test the lock
using the factory-preset combination.

Instalación de la cerradura
1. En el mecanismo del cerrojo de mortaja (objeto C de

2. Fije el mecanismo de cerrojo de mortaja (C)

3. Asegure la placa de recubrimiento (de radio o a bisel)
(D) (figura 5-3) al cierra de la mortaja, utilizando dos
tornillos Phillips de 8-32 x
la lista de comprobación).
4. Coloque el conjunto exterior de la caja de la cerra-
dura (E) (figura 5-4) (objeto A de la lista de com
probación) contra el larguero exterior. Asegúrese de
que la palanca exterior está introducida en la
pequeña abertura cuadrada (F) (figura 5-5) del
mecanismo del pestillo.
Consejo: Si encuentra dificultades al colocar la
palanca exterior, presione el pestillo mientras
introduce la palanca (figura 5-6).
5. Alinee los agujeros de perno pasante del conjunto
exterior de la caja de la cerradura (E) (figura 5-4)
con los cuatro agujeros de
larguero. Fije la parte superior del conjunto al
larguero utilizando la placa interior superior (G)
(objeto P en la lista de comprobación) y los dos
tornillos de montaje Phillips de 10-24 x 2
(objeto O en la lista de comprobación).
6. Compruebe el funcionamiento de la cerradura
utilizando la combinación prefijada en fábrica para
asegurarse de que la palanca está colocada
correctamente:
a. Pulse 2 y 4 a la vez, y suelte. A continuación,
pulse 3 y suelte.
b. Pulse el botón ENTER y suelte.
c. Sujete la parte inferior de la cerradura firmemente
contra el larguero y a continuación tire de la
paleta exterior para replegar el pestillo.
7. Si el pestillo no se repliega, compruebe la cerradura
utilizando de nuevo la combinación de fábrica. Si el
problema continúa, siga este procedimiento hasta
que el pestillo se repliegue como debe:
Vuelva a colocar la palanca exterior:
a. Quite la placa interior superior y el conjunto
exterior de la caja de la cerradura del larguero.
b. Apretando el pestillo (figura 5-6), vuelva a
colocar la palanca exterior en la pequeña abertura
cuadrada (F) del mecanismo del pestillo.
c. Sujete el conjunto exterior de la caja de la cerra-
dura firmemente contra la puerta, y pruebe la
cerradura utilizando la combinación de fábrica.
