7. Setting pressure,
vacuum and hysteresis
NB: The values set on VacuSafe are relative to
ambient air pressure. Minus values (accompanied
by a minus sign) indicate vacuum.
Hysteresis is the differential pressure between the switch on
and switch off points of the pump when pressure or vacuum
is being generated in the bottle.
Example: A pressure of 200 mbar and a hysteresis of 80
mbar has been set.
The pump functions until a pressure of 200 mbar has been
achieved and then switches off. During the dispensing
process the pressure in the bottle gradually falls. The pump
then switches on again when the pressure in the bottle is
120 mbar and increases it again to 200 mbar.
Values for pressure, vacuum and hysteresis can be set at
any time.
Setting vacuum and hysteresis
Switch on the pump with the power switch. The
actual vacuum in the bottle will be displayed.
Press the MODE key until the LED
VACUUM lights.
Press the SELECT key. The LED "∆P"
will light and the actual hysteresis value
will be displayed.
Set the required hysteresis value using the
keys.
Press the SELECT key. The LED "P"
will light and the actual value of the vac-
uum will be displayed.
Set the required vacuum value using the
keys.
Example: P= -600
Press the SELECT key. The LEDs will
extinguish indicating that VacuSafe is
ready for operation. The actual vacuum
in the bottle will be displayed.
and
and
∆P = -200
