Plug the mains plug of the battery charger into a socket out-
let and the charger plug into the socket on the rear side of
the handle (in one way only).
The charging procedure starts as soon as the charger plug of
the charger is inserted into the socket.
The battery charge indicator indicates the charging pro-
gress. The indicator flashes green during the charging pro-
cess. When the battery is fully charged, the battery charge
indicator is continuously lit green.
During the charging process, the handle of the power tool
will become warm. This is normal.
If you are not planning to use the power tool again soon, dis-
connect the charger from the mains.
The power tool cannot be used during the charging process.
It is not defective if it does not work during the charging pro-
cess.
Protect the charger from moisture.
u
Observe the notes for disposal of the battery.
Battery charge-control indicator
The battery charge-control indicator (1) indicates the char-
ging progress. During the charging process, the indicator
flashes green. When the battery charge-control indicator
(1) lights up green continuously, the battery is fully
charged.
When the On/Off switch is pressed halfway or completely,
the battery charge-control indicator (1) indicates the charge
condition of the battery for several seconds.

Operation
Pay attention that the cover of the charge connector
u
socket is shut during operation. This prevents the penet-
ration of dust.
Do not use a damaged blade (e.g. cracks, etc.). Replace a
u
damaged blade immediately.
Switching On and Off (see figure D)
Press and hold the lock-off button (4) and actuate the On/
Off switch (3).
Release the lock-off button (4).
When actuating the On/Off switch (3), the LED continuously
lights up green.
Anti Blocking
If the blade stalls on a tough material, the load of the motor
increases. The intelligent micro-electronics senses this over-
load condition and repeatedly reverses the motor, in order
to prevent stalling and to cut the branch through.
F 016 L94 170 | (16.04.2021)
This audible reversing cut action continues for up to 3 s.
After cutting through, the garden product continues in its
normal mode, or in case the overload condition continues,
the blades automatically stop in the open position (e.g. in
case a piece of metal fence accidentally blocks the garden
product).
Pole cart
Mounting/dismounting the pole cart (accessories or
delivery scope for "grass shear incl. pole cart" (see
figure E)
The pole cart is designed only for use with the grass
u
shear at ground level.
Use the telescopic pole (9) with the grass shear accessories.
Insert the grass shear into the holding pin for the wheel cart
(19) and slide the release (18) to the rear. Push the grass
shear downward and slide the release (18) back to the front
again.
To dismount the grass shear, slide the release (18) to the
rear and remove the grass shear toward the front.
Adjusting the pole length (see figure F)
Loosen the height adjustment (8).
Extend the telescopic pole (9) by pulling it out, or push in to
shorten.
Retighten the height adjustment (8) again.
Recommended times
Cut hedges with deciduous leaves in June and October.
Capacity
Cut evergreen hedges in April and August.
35–100 %
Cut conifer and other fast growing shrubs approx. every six
15–35 %
weeks from May onwards.
5−15 %
Cutting edges (grass shear only) (see figure G)
0−5 %
Rotate the product by 90° left or right to the vertical position
for cutting edges.
Guide the product along the edge of the lawn. Prevent the
blade from coming into contact with paved paths, stones or
garden walls because this significantly reduces the lifetime
of the blade.
After use, mount the blade guard.
Cutting hedges (shrub shear only) (see figure H)
Make sure that the product is switched off when removing
u
cut-off material or during maintenance. Unintentional
switching on may cause serious injury.
Before cutting, check the hedge/shrub for foreign objects
e. g. wire fences.
Cut stems up to 8 mm in thickness. When cutting, move the
product steadily along the line of cut, so that stems are fed
directly into the cutter blades. The double edge of the cut-
ting blade enables cutting to either direction, or with a side
to side motion.
After use, mount the blade guard.
