GB
The mixer MPX-4300E allows connection of three
micro phones, a turntable, and four audio units with line
output (e. g. CD player, tuner, tape deck). By means of
the input selector switches, four of the units connected
can be selected which may be faded in / faded out or
mixed with one another via the input channels.
Each input channel can be switched to the digital
effect generator to add an echo effect to the signal.
4 Connection
Always switch off the mixer and the audio units con-
nected before making or changing any connections.
1) Connect microphones to the jacks MIC 1 (5),
MIC 2 (6), and MIC 3 (19).
2) The jacks PHONO (18) allow connection of a
turntable with magnetic system. Clamp the ground
cable of the turntable (if provided) to the ground
screw
(20).
3) Connect audio units with a line output (e. g. tuner,
CD player, tape deck) to the jacks CD and LINE
1 – 3 (17).
4) Connect the amplifier for the speaker systems to
the jacks AMP (15). If the jacks REC (16) are not
used for a recorder, a second amplifier may be con-
nected here, if required.
5) For sound recordings, a recorder may be con-
nected to the jacks REC (16).
6) Finally connect the plug of the mains cable (14) to a
mains jack (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
5 Operation
Prior to switching on, it is recommended to set the slid-
ing controls (7) of the input channels to zero to prevent
switching noise. Switch on the mixer with the POWER
switch (3), then switch on the units connected.
CAUTION Never adjust the audio system or the
headphones to a very high volume. Per-
manent high volumes may damage
your hearing! The human ear will get
accustomed to high volumes which do
not seem to be that high after some
time. Therefore, do not further increase
a high volume after getting used to it.
After operation, switch off the mixer with the POWER
switch.

5.1 Mixing signals or fading in / fading out signals
1) Use the input selector switches (1) to select the
desired jacks and thus the units connected to them:
Channel 1
button pressed: The microphone jack MIC 1 (5) is
selected.
not pressed:
The jacks PHONO (18) for a
turntable are selected.
Channel 2
button pressed: The microphone jack MIC 2 (6) is
selected.
not pressed:
The jacks LINE 1 (17) for a unit
with line output (e. g. tuner, CD
player, tape deck) are selected.
Channel 3
button pressed: The microphone jack MIC 3 (19) is
selected.
not pressed:
The jacks LINE 2 (17) for a unit
with line output are selected.
Channel 4
button pressed: The jacks CD (17) for a CD player
or for another unit with line output
are selected.
not pressed:
The jacks LINE 3 (17) for a unit
with line output are selected.
2) Adjust the volume of the amplifier connected for the
speakers in such a way that the following adjust-
ments can be heard well.
3) Use the sliding controls (7) to mix the input signals
with one another or to fade them in / fade them out.
For this purpose, control the level of the channels
according to the VU-meter (2). Usually the level is
controlled to an optimum level if the VU-meter
shows values in the 0 dB range with passages of
average volume. If the output level is too high or too
low for the following unit, advance or close the con-
trols accordingly.
Always set the controls of the channels which
are not used to zero.
4) Adjust an optimum sound with the three controls
BASS, MID, and TREBLE (9).
5.2 Adding the echo effect
1) Press the button ECHO (4) in the channels for
which the echo effect is to be added.
2) Adjust the number of echo repeats with the control
REPEAT (8).
3) Adjust the echo delay time with the control
DELAY (10).
Note: The echo effect cannot be monitored via head-
phones connected to the jack
(11).
