Assembly

4.1 Installation Guidelines
Install shut-off valves before and after backflow
preventer
Install in horizontal pipework with the discharge valve
downwards
Ensure good access
– Simplifies maintenance and inspection
Backflow preventers of this type have an integral
strainer which protects the device from the ingress of
dirt. With highly polluted water a fine filter should be
installed upstream to ensure the correct function of
the device
– This protects the appliance against dirt
Do not install in places where flooding can occur
The installation environment should be protected
against frost and ventilated well
Install discharge pipework which has adequate
capacity

Drinking water
1.5 - 10 bar
up to 65 °C (WRAS max.
60 °C)

In order to avoid flooding, it is recommended to
arrange a permanent, professionally dimensioned
wastewater connection
These armatures need to be maintained regularly
4.2 Assembly instructions
The rules of the drinking water regulation must be
considered during the assembly!
1.
Thoroughly flush pipework
2.
Install backflow preventer
Install in horizontal pipework with discharge

Maintenance

In order to comply with EN 806-5, water fixtures must
be inspected and serviced on an annual basis.
As all maintenance work must be carried out by an
installation company, it is recommended that a
servicing contract should be taken out.
In accordance with EN 806-5, the following measures must
be taken:
5.1 Inspection
5.1.1 System disconnector
1.
Close shut-off valve on inlet
2.
Open the drain point on the inlet side of the shut-off
ball valve.
• If the differential pressure between middle and
inlet chambers is less than 10 % of the inlet
pressure, the system disconnector moves into
disconnect position (back suction). The inlet side
backflow preventer closes and the discharge valve
opens.
Discharge valve does not open, replace backflow
preventer!
3.
Close the drain point on the inlet side of the shut-off
ball valve
4.
Slowly open shut-off valve on inlet
5.1.2 Tightness
1.
Open sampling point
• Backflow preventer changes into flow position.
2.
Optical control backflow preventer of location and
tightness.
Water is escaping from backflow preventer call
