Erasing a track title
You can erase a track title. If you erase a track title, "LP:",
which was automatically registered as a track title when the
track was recorded in LP2 or LP4 mode, will also be erased.
1 Select or play the track whose title you want to
erase.
2 Press MD MODE twice to display "Erase Title".
3 Within 8 seconds, press ENTER/ILLUMINATION.
"XXTr?" (XX is the track number) is displayed.
4 Press ENTER/ILLUMINATION again.
Note on disc/track/group title
When entering a disc or group title, do not use a character
string such as "//xxx;" ("//BEATLES;", for example). If such
character string is used, information concerning the group
and track structure may not be recognized by the system
correctly.
If MDs with groups are played on other equipment
If you play an MD on which you create groups on other
equipment that does not support groups, a very long disc
title will be displayed. This long title determines group
and track structure on the disc. Therefore, if you modify
this title, the disc's group and track structure will no longer
be recognized by this system.
In this case, if you correct the disc title to conform to the
rule (syntax), this system will be able to recognize the
group and track structure. See page 48 for details.
Dividing a track
You can divide a track into two tracks by registering an index
mark.
1 Turn FUNCTION to select the MD function and
insert an MD.
2 During play of the track to be divided, press a
at the point where you want to divide the track.
The system enters the pause mode.
3 Press MD EDIT/REC (or hold down SHIFT and
press MD EDIT on the remote control) to display
"Divide X?" (X is the track number).
4 Within 8 seconds, press ENTER/ILLUMINATION
(or ENTER/ILLUMI on the remote control).
The Mini Disc Recorder plays repeatedly the 3 seconds
after the point where you pressed a.
5 Adjust the point to be divided with f or g,
or VOLUME/MULTI JOG, referring to the playback
sound.
6 Within 1 minute, press ENTER/ILLUMINATION
(ENTER/ILLUMI).
An index mark is registered and the track number advances
by one.
7 Remove the MD.
"WRITING" is displayed and the data concerning the
contents of the editing are registered.
Notes
•If the track had a title before the division, the title is assigned
to the first half of the divided track.
•A track cannot be divided when the loaded disc already
contains 254 tracks.
Dividing a group
You can divide a group into two groups, each containing a
certain number of tracks.
