RECHARGING
It is necessary to recharge batteries for about 15 hours to permit them to work at full power.
When batteries are completely charged Gratì is able to grate aprox. 1000 grams of cheese. To start the bat-
tery recharge, plug the charging unit in and place Gratì into the recharge base or place only the battery into
the recharge base, placing it within the provided resting site in the recharge base (Fig.3).
The lit indicator will switch on to show that the battery is charging.
When replacing the batteries, do not dispose of the old ones as normal refuse; take them to your nearest
Assistance Centre, where they can be separated and disposed of in the proper containers, in compliance
with legal regulations with regard to the environment and the recycling of used materials.
NOTES ON RECHARGING
Using the appliance frequently will guarantee longer life and optimal functioning. The handle will become
warm during recharging: this is normal.
Avoid recharging at temperatures lower than 4°C or higher than 40°C. This can damage the batteries.
If the grater does not work check that it has been correctly placed into its recharging base, that there is elec-
tricity and that the plug has been correctly connected.
Important: if function autonomy seems to become shorter after repeated use, this does not mean that the
unit is faulty. This trouble can be solved by leaving the appliance switched on until the roller stops rota-
ting. Then recharge the appliance for 15 hours. This procedure improves the batteries' recharging capaci-
ties. If necessary repeat this operation more than once.
REMOVING/FITTING THE ROLLER
Turn off the motor and rotate the indented ring counter clockwise by about 1/4, and draw the roller outwards
(Fig. 4).
To reassemble the roller, introduce the roller into its housing and keeping it pressed rotate it clockwise by
about 1/4. A click will signal the automatic link.
USE
Cut the food into "cubes", introduce them into the hopper then lower the lever (Fig. 6). Press the on/off
switch (Fig. 7) . GRATÌ also provides a practical plug to keep unutilised food inside the hopper and roller;
the plug also protects the food from dirt or dust (Fig. 8).
REMOVING/ FITTING HOPPER AND EXTERNAL PROTECTION
To remove the hopper turn off the motor and rotate the indented ring counter clockwise by about 1/4, and
remove the roller (Fig. 9). Then lift the lever (Fig. 10) . Draw the hopper outwards as shown in Fig. 11.
Separate the hopper from the external protection by pulling it slightly (Fig. 12).
To reassemble the hopper align the three grooves with the three hooks on the external protection; then
press slightly until it clicks (Fig. 13). Lastly place the fitted unit into the appliance body housing and press
slightly until it has been completely fit and it clicks (Fig. 14).
