MultiControl Duo
Possible cause
The control contact of the pump in question has
tripped
The limiter contact of the pump in question has
tripped
Phase 2 is missing, the control system is
operated with no load, or the current is less than
0.3 A.
The motor current is higher than the value set in
the current limitation
The level has exceeded the overflow level
Contact for overflow float switch has closed
Contact for protection against dry running has
opened
Triggered after three changes
The maximum runtime is less than the value set
for the runtime change
The settings for the switching point and tripping
point overlap
The settings for the overflow alarm and switching
point overlap
The switching point for the basic load pump is
higher than the switching point of the peak load
pump
Plausibility check of the float switches; sequence
incorrect
Signal for the external level probe lower than 3
mA
The measuring range of the external level probe
has changed. Switch points are outside of the
measuring range
One or two phases are missing, or rotating field is
incorrect
The ATEX mode is activated, and the level is
below the tripping point of the selected pump
If the pump in use does not have the relevant thermal
motor protection switch, the function must be disabled
in the menu (see section 4.2. above, section on
Thermal fault 1, thermal fault 2).
Check pump, remove foreign body as required if
blocked. Check that the motor has cooled sufficiently.
If the pump in use does not have the relevant thermal
motor protection switch, a jumper must be used for
each pump used (see section 6.3. below, section on
Thermal motor protection switches).
Check pump, remove foreign body as required if
blocked. Check that the motor has cooled sufficiently
(dry running).
Once the pump has cooled down, press the
Acknowledge button to enable the pump.
Check mains supply, pump cable and pump
Check pump for functionality and check current
limitation setting
Check pumps for functionality and check overflow
level setting
Check pumps and float switch for functionality
Check pump and float switch for functionality, check
level
Check pumps for functionality and runtime change
settings
Check runtime change and maximum runtime settings
Check the level settings
Check the level settings
Check the level settings
Check float switches for functionality and electrical
connection
Check level probe, explosion barrier and electrical
connections
Check the level settings
Check whether all 3 phases and if the rotating field is
correct
In areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere, the
level must rise above the tripping point for the pumps
before they can be activated.
If the pumps are not located in areas with a potentially
explosive atmosphere, the ATEX mode can be
disabled in the menu.
