1.0 Warning and safety notices for installing and commissioning the control system
1.1 Applications
The switchgear is designed for use in the disposal of waste water, untreated wastewater.
The following must be noted for actuating pumps that are being operated in an area with a potentially
explosive atmosphere: The switchgear itself must be installed outside of the area subject to a potentially
explosive atmosphere.
Components with the relevant approvals must be used when using external 4 - 20 mA level probes and float
switches that are installed in areas subject to potentially explosive atmospheres.
For the switching of three-phase A.C. motors, the following limit values for both the setting of the electronic
limiting of the motor current and the settings of the mechanical motor protection switches must be observed.

Personnel qualifications

The personnel installing, commissioning and maintaining the switchgear must have the appropriate
qualifications.
1.3 Safety notices for the operator
The existing regulations for accident prevention issued by the VDE (German Association of Electrical
Engineers) and the local power supply companies must be observed. When opening the switchgear (removing
the panel or terminal cover) or working on the pumps, it is imperative that the control system is always
disconnected from the power supply via the back-up fuse or a separate main switch.
1.4 Hazards if the safety notices are not observed
Failure to observe the safety notices may jeopardise the safety of persons and the product/system. Failure to
observe the safety notices may invalidate all claims to compensation.
1.5 Operating manual
The operating manual must be observed when installing, commissioning and maintaining the switchgear. It is
imperative that the limit values specified in this manual are observed.
A maximum of 3 25 A fuses must be fitted on the mains side.
(If the maximum of 3 x 25 A fuses are used, a rigid supply line with a conductor cross-section of 4 mm² must
be fitted.)
