Tips
To drive screws in or out, always align the ma-
chine with the screw.
When screwing large, long wood screws into
hard materials, it is recommended to drill a pilot
hole.
Soft Grip
The gripping surface 3 on the rear of the handle
(soft grip) reduces the danger of slipping and
thereby improves the grip on the machine and the
handling.
At the same time, the rubber coating achieves a
vibration-reducing effect.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the machine itself, remove
the battery.
For safe and proper working, always keep the
machine and its ventilation slots clean.
Keep the tool holder clean at all times.
Carbon Brush Replacement
(see figure )

When the carbon brushes are used up, the power
tool switches off automatically.
The carbon brushes are each installed to the right
and left of the motor housing. For replacement of
the carbon brushes loosen the cover lid 13 using
a screwdriver or a coin and remove it.
Pull out and replace the used up carbon
brush 14. The new carbon brush can also be in-
serted turned by 180°. Afterwards, mount the
cover lid 13 again.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an authorised after-sales
service centre for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts orders,
please always include the 10-digit order number
given on the nameplate of the machine.

Environmental Protection

Recycle raw materials instead of disposing as
waste
The machine, accessories and packaging should
be sorted for environmental-friendly recycling.
These instructions are printed on recycled paper
manufactured without chlorine.
The plastic components are labelled for catego-
rised recycling.
Do not dispose of the battery into household
waste, water or fire.
Defective or worn out batteries must be recycled
according to the guidelines 91/157/EEC.
Batteries no longer suitable for use can be
directly returned at:
