breathing resistance is felt. Filters shouldn't be used in presence of substances that can block the air inlet. Before re-using the same
filter make sure that it was stored in accordance with storage paragraph. Pay attention to the conditions of the connector to the
mask. It must be clean and not obstructed, without deposits of substances that can prevent the correct functioning.
Commissioning and use
The user of a protective device for breathing apparatus has to be well trained and ha has to know the instruction for use. Before
use the filter, put out it from the box and remove the plugs. The seal, that is the package, has to be integer. The user has to make
sure the filter is suitable for the intended use, visually in perfect condition and with the protection covers in the correct position.
Before the use connect hermetically the filter with the mask. Wear the respirator and check the tightness on the face. The time
duration of the filter depends on the use conditions. Gas and combined filters are disposable devices and than have to be replaced,
when the smell of the contaminant is perceived in the respirator. Filters for gasses and vapours odorless, like as mercury and
carbon monoxide, can be used only one time and for a short period. The maximum time of use is evaluated according to the
conditions of use and the place where it operates. Besides these specific situations of use, the warnings for use of certain filters
must be observed (for example the use for AX filters). Particles and combined filters used against contaminants in the form of
particles, have to be substituited when the braething resistance increases. Filters must not be used in the presence of substances
that could clog the air inlet side, in an anomalous manner. For reuse, the filter must be replaced as described in the relative
paragraph, making sure that the threaded connection is free and clean, and that the inlet side of air is also free and without
encrusting substances that could preclude the operation.
Disposal
Filters are special waste goods and must be disposed according to the substances retained and local legislation.
