Advantages of the SmartBoard G83-6744
Chip card reader in accordance with
PC/SC 2.0 specification
EMVCo approval (EMV2000 Level 1 Type Approval)
Omnikey CardMan 3121 compatible
If your application supports the direct transfer of the PIN to
the chip card, the SmartBoard G83-6744 provides you with
particular security when you enter your PIN by means of the
Secure PIN Entry mode:
The PIN input is not transferred to the system, but rather
transferred directly from the number block of the keyboard
directly to the chip card.

Connection of the SmartBoard to the
PC and installation of the software
2.1 Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/Vista/7
1 Place the CHERRY CD in your CD-ROM drive.
The CD-ROM starts automatically.
2 If the CD-ROM does not start automatically, double-click
the CD-ROM drive in Windows Explorer and then the
Start.exe file.
3 Follow the installation instructions on the screen.
4 Restart the PC.
5 Connect the USB plug of the SmartBoard with the USB
port of your PC.
2.2 Linux/Mac/Windows
Install the PC/SC driver from the CHERRY CD selecting
the folder "drivers".
For a CT-API, special synchronous APIs or OCF drivers,
click the folder "software".

Secure PIN Entry function
The PIN LED indicates whether the keyboard
is in this protected mode:
LED lights green: Card is activated
LED flashes red: Keyboard is in the Secure PIN Entry
mode
Confirm the PIN by using one of the two "Enter" keys.
Abort the process by using the "Esc" key or the "+" key on
the number block.
Correct your entry with the "Backspace" key or the "–" key
on the number block.

Disposal
4.1
Dispose of the old unit via a collecting point for
electronic scrap or via your dealer.
