Operating instructions
Additional sensor for EFS-3110A
Item no. 1760612
Intended use
The additional sensor is used to capture weather data outdoors. The data measured by
the sensor are wirelessly transmitted to the weather station. The sensor can also receive
the DCF time signal and transmit it to the connected weather station. It is constructed
in accordance with degree of protection IPX3. The additional sensor is powered by 2x
1.5 V batteries. The sensor can be used with weather stations with Conrad item no. 1615871
and 1760613, the latter of which does not feature a DCF function. For safety and approval
purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product for purposes other than
those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper use can cause hazards
such as a short circuit or fire. Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe
place. If you pass the product on to a third party, please hand over these operating instructions
as well.

Explanation of symbols
The symbol with the lightning in a triangle indicates that there is a risk to your health,
e.g. due to an electric shock.
The symbol with an exclamation mark in a triangle is used to highlight important
information in these operating instructions. Always read this information carefully.
The arrow symbol indicates special information and tips on how to use the product.
Safety information
Read the operating instructions and safety information carefully. If you do
not follow the safety information and information on proper handling in these
operating instructions, we will assume no liability for any resulting personal
injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) General information
• The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a
dangerous toy for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts,
flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
may damage the product.
• Always observe the safety instructions and operating instructions of any other
devices which are connected to the product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product, or if
you have concerns about safety.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be carried out by a technician
or a specialist repair centre.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or other professionals.
• In schools, educational facilities and hobby or DIY workshops, the product must be
operated under the supervision of qualified personnel.
• Do not cover any openings in the sensor housing during operation.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) batteries.
• The (rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used
for a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged
(rechargeable) batteries may cause acid burns if they come into contact with
your skin. Always use suitable protective gloves when handling damaged
(rechargeable) batteries.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of the reach of children. Do not leave
(rechargeable) batteries lying around, as there is a risk that children or pets may
swallow them.
• All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and
new (rechargeable) batteries in the device can lead to (rechargeable) battery
leakage and device damage.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into
open flames. Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. This may cause an
explosion!

Positioning the sensor
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws to ensure that no cables or
concealed pipes are damaged. We recommend that you mount the outdoor sensor
to the left or right of a window so as to be able to see the transmission status
LED (1) clearly.
• Select the installation location, such as a wall facing north, so that the additional sensor is
not exposed to direct sunlight. Otherwise, there may be distortion of the measurements.
Direct precipitation onto the additional sensor (rain or snow) should also be avoided. Install
the additional sensor in an area that is in the shade all day long as direct sunlight and heat
dissipation from objects will distort temperature measurements.
• You can mount the additional sensor to a wall with a suitable screw or nail (neither included).
• The additional sensor can also be set up on a level, stable surface.
• The installation should ensure a direct line of sight between the weather station and the
sensor to ensure good wireless reception. Poor wireless reception should be expected when
the sensor is near to metal-coated insulated glass windows, reinforced concrete, coated
wallpapers or electronic devices, or when placed in a cellar. Do not use the sensor on
vehicles or moving objects.
a) Inserting the batteries into the additional sensor
• Open the battery compartment cover on the battery compartment (6) on the back of the
additional sensor.
• Select a channel using the sliding switch for channel selection (5).
• Insert two AA batteries (not included) with the correct polarity into the battery
compartment (6) (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• The additional sensor is now ready to use. Once the batteries have been inserted, the
additional sensor starts to send wireless signals at intervals of 60 seconds.
• Replace the battery compartment cover.
The additional sensor can be operated with rechargeable batteries. However, the
operating time is reduced by the lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery
= 1.2 V). Rechargeable batteries are very sensitive to changes in temperature,
resulting in a shorter battery life in cold conditions. We therefore recommend using
only high-quality lithium batteries instead of rechargeable batteries.
Replace the (rechargeable) batteries if no or no permanent connection with the
connected weather station can be established.
If you have more than one sensor (max. 8), all sensors must be set to a different
channel.
The weather station automatically searches for the wireless signal of the sensors and connects
as soon as one is found. The signal strength or the measurement data of the sensor are shown
on the display of the weather station once a signal is received.
