4. Set the control knob (2) to the
left-hand limit position (mini-
mum charging current).
5. Turn
the
voltage
switch (9) to the position "12 V"
or "24 V".
6. Set the charging current to the
value specified by the battery
manufacturer at the control
knob (2).
F The instructions of the bat-
tery manufacturer must be
observed in all cases when
setting the charging current.
The maximum charging current is
determined from the value for the
rated battery capacity (Ah).
Examples:
The maximum charging current for a
12 Ahbattery is 12 A and the maxi-
mum charging current for an 18 Ah
battery is 18 A.
7. Continuously monitor the char-
ging current on the
ammeter (5).
If the green LED display
lights up, this means that the
battery has been charged up to
selector
approx. 60% of its rated capa-
city and is thus capable of star-
ting.
F The battery must be checked
before trickle charging. Only
fault-free batteries must be
charged further or trickle-
charged!
F Check the battery condition
every three months.
8. Set the operating mode selec-
tor switch ( (1) to the position
for maintenance-free batte-
ries

After the end of charging:
9. Set
the
voltage
switch (9) to "0" (OFF).
10. Remove the charging clips from
the battery.
