Heat pump water heater – TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR INSTALLERS
b)
Avoid installing the appliance in rooms which may favour frost build-up. The product is designed for
indoor installations, the product's safety and performance levels are not guaranteed in the event of
outdoor installation.
c)
Ensure that the installation site and the electrical and hydraulic systems to which the appliance must be
connected fully comply with the regulations in force.
d)
The chosen site must have, or must be suitable to house, a single-phase 220-230 V ~ 50 Hz power
supply socket.
e)
The support surface must ensure a perfectly horizontal operating position, and can withstand the weight
of the water heater filled with water.
f)
The chosen site must conform to the appliance's IP protection rating (protection against the penetration of
liquids) as specified by the regulations in force.
g)
The appliance must not be exposed to direct sunlight, even when windows are present.
h)
The appliance must not be exposed to particularly aggressive substances such as acidic vapours, dust or
gas-filled environments.
i)
The appliance must not be directly installed on lines that are unprotected against overvoltage.
j)
The appliance must be installed as close as possible to the points of use to limit heat dispersion along the
piping.
Positioning on the ground – 300 litres floor standing model
a)
Once the suitable installation position has been located, remove the packaging and remove the fixings
visible on the pallet where the product is based (fig.6).
b)
Fix the feet on the ground (through the appropriate holes) using suitable screws and rawlplugs.
Positioning on the ground – 150-200 litres wall hung model
a)
Fix the product through the brackets on a bearing wall, using the installation template printed on the
packaging. For each bracket using two bolts,and two chrome screws concrete type Fischer M10, M12 or
M14, No. 2 nuts M10, M12 or M14, No. 2 washers M10, M12 or M14. Make sure the screws and bolts are
tight. (see Figure 7).
b)
This model can be installed on a support tripod only use the appropriate model provided by the
manufacturer of the water heater. In this case the product must be secured to a bearing wall over
the upper bracket, or both.

4.2 Location of the external unit

WARNING! Prior to starting any installation activities, ensure that the location where the water heater is to be
installed satisfies the following requirements:
a)
establish the most suitable position on the wall, allowing enough room to easily perform any maintenance
(see fig. 3);
b)
Install the outdoor unit on a solid wall in a very secure way, in a place where noise and exhaust air do not
cause trouble. Choose a place that does not obstruct the free passage and which is easy to evacuate the
condensate produced.
c)
The plan of operation must be exactly horizontal, check with a level (Fig. 3).
d)
Follow the steps and only then start making the connections of the pipes and electric cables;
secure the brackets to the wall using suitable fixings for the wall (be careful to cables and pipes in the
e)
wall), use dowels larger than the weight would require: while operating the machine vibrates and must be
installed for years without any screw come loose.

4.3 Discharge of condensate

The condensate or water, which is formed in the outdoor unit during heating operation, must be eliminated, freely or
through the drain. Fix the drain connection into the hole which is located on the bottom of the unit and connect the
plastic tube with the connector. Ensure that the condensate water runs out in a suitable drain and make sure the
discharge is made without hindrance.

4.4 Tools for the connection of refrigerant lines

a) Group manometer suitable for use with R134a, with charge and vacuum tubes;
b) Vacuum pump;
c)
Torque wrenches for nominal diameter of 1/4 "and 3/8" sizes on both sides to respond to the measures of the
pipe unions;
