WARNING
!
A mask should not be used unless the S8 Compact is turned on and operating
properly.
1
Ensure patient settings are correct.
Instruct the patient to lie down in bed. If desired, arrange the air tubing over the top
of the headboard to reduce drag on the mask.
WARNING
!
Do not leave long lengths of air tubing around the top of the bed; they may twist
around the patient's head or neck while sleeping.
Blocking the hose while in operation could lead to overheating of the device.
2
The LCD will display the standby (RAMP) screen.
If the patient has difficulty falling asleep with full pressure, set a Ramp Time (see
page 20). The airflow will start very gently while they fall asleep. The pressure will
slowly increase to full operating pressure over the selected time.
3
To start therapy, press the Start/Stop button to start the airflow. Air will begin
flowing slowly and will build up to the operating pressure in about 15 to 25 seconds.
4
Instruct the patient to put on the mask according to the mask user instructions.
5
Adjust the mask and headgear to achieve optimal fit.
6
At the end of the ramp period, the LCD will look similar to the screen below:
7
To stop therapy, remove the mask, and press the Start/Stop button to stop airflow.
