    Rotoren und benötigt somit keinen Heckrotor; es zeichnet sich durch eine überragende Flugstabilität aus und kann daher schon nach relativ kurzer Lernphase beherrscht werden. Der „micro Koala indoor“ wird flugfertig zusammengebaut und bereits eingeflogen geliefert. Aus verpackungstechnischen Gründen wurde die Stabilisierungsstange vom oberen Rotor demon- tiert und muss vor Inbetriebnahme wieder aufgesetzt werden.

  • Page 4 Besondere Hinweise zur Ladung von Graupner-LiPo-Akkus Da die Firma Graupner GmbH & Co. KG die richtige Ladung und Entladung der Zellen nicht überwachen kann, wird jegliche Garantie bei fehlerhafter Ladung oder Entladung ausgeschlossen. Für die Ladung von Li-Po Akkus dürfen nur die zugelassenen Ladegeräte mit den dazugehörigen Ladekabeln verwendet werden.
  • Page 5 Besondere Hinweise zur Entladung von Graupner-LiPo-Akkus: Ein Dauerstrom von ca. 6C stellen für die Graupner-LiPo-Akkus kein größeres Problem dar. Bei größeren Strömen beachten Sie bitte die Katalogangaben. Eine Entladung von unter 2,5V pro Zelle schädigt die Zellen dauerhaft und ist daher unbedingt zu vermeiden.

    micro Koala indoor Funktionsweise eines koaxial-gegenläufigen Rotorsystems Anstatt das Hauptrotordrehmoment mit einem Heckrotor auszugleichen, besitzt das koaxial gegenläufige Rotorsystem zwei Hauptrotoren, die über einander angeordnet in entgegenge- setzte Richtungen drehen. Das ermöglicht es, dass sich die Drehmomente der beiden Rotoren gegen einander ausgleichen, so dass sich der Rumpf weder im Schwebeflug, noch im Vorwärts- flug unbeabsichtigt um die senkrechte Achse dreht.

In allen anderen Fällen sollte die Belegung des Lieferzustandes (Mode 2) beibehalten werden. Zum Ändern der Steuerknüppelbelegung muss das Sendergehäuse geöffnet werden.

    Foreword The miniature electric helicopter “micro Koala indoor“ is a real, free flying model helicopter, con- trolled by a 4-channel FM radio and designed for indoor flying. The model has two co-axial counter-rotating main rotors, so it does not need a tail rotor. Due to ist superior stability in flight it can be mastered after a relatively short learning time.
  • Page 21 micro Koala indoor and result in enormous imbalance; the whole helicopter then falls into sympathetic vibration, you lose control and have no way of predicting what the model will do next. • You may also lose control if a problem arises in the radio control system, perhaps as a result of outside interference, component failure or flat or faulty batteries, but in any case the result is the same: the model helicopter’s response is entirely unpredictable.
  • Page 22 LiPo batteries should only be charged and discharged using Graupner chargers / dischargers specially de- signed to cope with them, e.g. the Graupner LiPo charger 4 (Order No. 6437), LiPomat 4 Plus (Order No. 6438), Ultramat 10 (Order No. 6410), Ultramat 12 (Order No. 6412), ULTRA DUO PLUS 30 (Order No. 6416) (in Li-Io or Li-Mn or Li-Po mode (new)) or GMVIS Commander with software version V2003 or later (Order No.
  • Page 23 Never short-circuit these batteries. Shorting the terminals allows a very high current to flow, and this heats up the cells. This in turn may lead to a loss of electrolyte, gassing (venting of gas) or even an explosion. When handling Graupner LiPo batteries keep them well away from conductive objects and surfaces to avoid the danger of a short-circuit.

    micro Koala indoor How the coaxial counter-rotating system works Instead of using a tail rotor to balance the main rotor torque, the coaxial counter-rotating system has two main rotors, one above the other, turning in opposite directions. This makes it possible that the torque of the two rotors can exactly balance each other so that the fuselage won’t be twisted during hovering or in straight flight.

    micro Koala indoor Since the two rotors are driven by two motors separately, you can cause different torques of the two rotors ( maintaining constant overall thrust) by increasing the speed of one motor and de- creasing the speed of the other to turn the helicopter left or right around the vertical (yaw) axis. This is used instead of the tail rotor control in conventional helicopters to turn around in hovering or change direction in flight.

    micro Koala indoor Charging of the LiPO battery pack Fig. (6) shows the 2-cells / 800 mAh LiPo battery pack, the LiPo charger and the adapter which converts the AC current into 12 V DC as the input of the LiPo charger. Please be noted that the Li-Po charger has both, an input socket (5) and an input with crocodile clips (6).

With the battery pack back fully inserted in the battery hanger the fuselage shall be suspended level and the C.G. of the machine is sure located under the main shaft of the rotors.

You may wish to do so if you are already a model helicopter pilot used to a different stick mode. In all other cases you should use the default mode 2 as it is factory set up.
