SETTING THE TIME MANUALLY AND SETTING THE
TIME ZONE
If time signal reception is not possible, the watch can also be set manually.
However, the precondition is that the 12 o'clock positioning of the hands has been
performed correctly (see "Positioning the hands").
-
Press the push-button (B) for approx. 2 seconds until the time zone indication
is shown in the display (C). This is normally the indication EU for the DCF time
signal.
-
Set the desired time zone with the push-button (A):
EU = European time zone (DCF)
2H to 7H = time difference compared to the Greenwich time (+2 to +7 h)
CN = Chinese time zone (JJY)
JP = Japanese time zone (JJY)
10H to 12H = time difference compared to the Greenwich time (+10 to +12 h)
-12H to -9H = time difference compared to the Greenwich time (-12 to -9 h)
US-P = USA, Pacific time zone (WWVB)
US-M = USA, Mountain time zone (WWVB)
US-C = USA, Central time zone (WWVB)
US-E = USA, Eastern time zone (WWVB)
-4H to -1H = time difference compared to the Greenwich time (-4 to -1 h)
UK = British time zone (MSF)
-
Press the push-button (B) again and set the operating mode for the daylight
saving time adjustment using the push-button (A):
AUTO = automatic change summer/winter time
ON = manual setting for summer time on
OFF = manual setting for summer time off
-
Press the push-button (B) again and set the hours using the push-button (A).
-
Proceed as described above to set the minutes, the seconds, the year, the month
and the date.
Push-button (B) is used to select the value to be adjusted and with push-button
(A) the corresponding value can be changed.
-
In a final step, press the push-button (B), to save the settings and to return to the
normal display mode.
When a time zone has is set with signal reception (DCF, MSF, JJY or WWVB),
the watch continues to attempt to receive the corresponding time signal and
adjusts automatically after successfully receiving the signal. This is shown
by the indicated reception symbol in the display (C).
DISPLAY
The date is normally shown in the display (C).
-
Press the push-button (A) to display the seconds and the weekday.
-
Press (A) again, to view the set time zone.
-
Press (A) again and wait a few seconds to return to the date display.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
-
If a battery symbol is shown in the display (C), the battery has to be replaced.
-
Replacing the battery should be done by a specialist, using special clockmaker
tools and professional knowledge.
-
To replace the battery, the back of the case is removed.
-
The battery can then be removed from its holder and replaced.
RESTART AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY
-
After a battery change, the 00:00 indication will flash in the display (C).
-
Position the hands to the 12 o'clock position, as described in "Positioning the
hands".
-
The watch now performs a reception attempt and will set itself to the correct
time, after successful reception.
SLEEP MODE
If no button is pressed for one month, the watch switches to sleep mode. In this
process, the display is switched off and the automatic synchronisation with the time
signal takes place once a week only, in order to save energy.
To return to the normal mode, just press any button.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

To clean the outside of the watch, a dry soft clean cloth is sufficient. For heavier
soiling of the exterior, you can moisten the cloth slightly with lukewarm water.
Clean the watch very carefully; otherwise you may scratch it.
Do not press too heavily on the glass cover, as this can lead to breakage.
SHOCK RESISTANCE
In normal use, the wristwatch is protected against shocks. Nevertheless, do not
expose the device to extreme shocks such as it might occur if the device falls onto
a hard surface. This may damage the clockwork or the position of the hands may be
changed (Positioning the hands is described earlier in this manual).
